Dead Space 2

How long is the demo and what about the gameplay has the controls improved, not that they needed to, but still. Does the atmosphere send the chill down your spine like the first one did. I am in a quandary to get the demo or go for the game straight. Anyways loads of stuff to download from psn today. ME2, LBP2 demos and the Tester 2 episode.

Just finished the demo on PS3. Damn, it's really awesome and must play. The graphics looked awesome to me on the PS3. The sound is superb as expected. The game felt scary and wasn't that easy considering the low amount of health packs available.

Must play with headphones ON!

it took me around 15-20 minutes to complete the demo so it's not that short. The atmosphere is just like the 1st one. Play with headphones ON.

This is the same demo that we played at EA showcase back in September.

Anyways Digitalfoundry analysis:

Great looking, remarkably smooth (it rarely even drops 1 frame) and perfect platform parity....seems like Visceral games has a talent for achieving perfect parity between platforms and have a rock solid FPS (Dante's Inferno being the previous game). :clapping:

Condemned is creepy and so is Dead Space...yes Condemned scares you more but that doesn't means Dead Space doesn't scares people at all.

A game/movie doesn't needs to have the most frightening stuff in order to be scary.

The ending was the least scary bit cos I'd already seen the entire demo gameplay (I think the video was on gametrailers before) a month or two ago and when that

Gunship

showed up, I knew more or less what to expect next. The only part that startled me was when that big praying mantis kinda thing with the yellow bulge on its neck jumped out and grabbed Issac. Those creepy Gollum-like (I mean the "My Precious" dude from LOTR) necromorphs - well I tried to deal with them standing in one place using the Plasma cutter  and died horribly. Next time I switched to the assault rifle and gunned them down easy. This is the first time I'm using the AR in dead space :fear:
