ZooZoo
@praveen can you stop using too much of brain while playing the game Just immerse yourself into the character and think as if you are there instead of Isaac. Also make sure you have your room closed, all the lights turned off, pitch black darkness, 5.1 headphone and if possible lower the temperature of the room to 15 C. These are the essential conditions to wet pants IMO, its the gloomy depressing atmosphere that does the trick here, without the atmosphere it wont be that scary. You can get loads of monsters but not get scared, take fallout for example. Minimal HUD is another thing which adds to the immersion of the game. With a lot of HUD its hard to immerse yourself in the game too much but DS2 is outstanding in that area too.

These are the essential conditions to wet pants in addition to all that play when all ur friendly neighborhood is asleep. I generally start around 11 and play till 12:30 am. I follow exactly same steps except that is mine is 5.1 sound system instead of headfones. I am allways on the edge because of the sounds they make and the odd phucking moster makes it scary sh*t and in addition to that it has breakfast of me . Also try getting killed by the kiddos and for that matter each kind of enemy they r too gud to miss.

These are the essential conditions to wet pants Sorry I can't disable my higher level brain functions just cause the game is too dumb to be creative in its horror tricks. I am one of those guys who isn't afraid of darkness, so dark gloomy corridors/playing in a dark room mean sh*t to me if it isn't used correctly. If I play Amnesia during the middle of the day I'll still get scared, that's a sign which can only be seen in true horror games.

MarketTantrik
Damn, I overwrote a save game and now I find that a room just a corridor or two ago had a load of power nodes plus a 10,000 credit article Noooooooooooooooooooo Chapter / location? Into Chapter 7. The game is definitely not as scary as some of you have been making it out to be, but it certainly is creepy. Some of the areas the game takes you to really kickstart your imagination as to what might have taken place there. There are also small scenes that take place as you explore the map that vary from disturbing to downright awful. Unfortunately, one flaw from the first game has gotten carried over to this one. The game just shuttles you from place to place without any clear explanation of why exactly you are suuposed to be doing what you are doing. It simply straps the harness on you and rides you. But a terrific experience so far. I dont know how the hours flew by.

spindoctor
i'm loving the game even though i can only play for 30-45 minutes at a time. after that i start getting an uncomfortable feeling and just want to get to the next save station so that i can save and stop. maybe that has something to do with the fov though just got through the first boss fight and it was damn cool. fully scripted but still, seriously awesome. and i have to say, the game looks absolutely incredible.here's a few screenshots (compressed to jpg for size, so they're lower quality) there are few more here (which i will be adding to as well) - https://picasaweb.go...tis/DeadSpace2#

Too much strobe effects in dark room were uneasy on eyes too. Also I hate games with left sided character FoV. Wish they give us an option to tweak those camera angles.
