MarketTantrik
Also I hate games with left sided character FoV. Wish they give us an option to tweak those camera angles. Thats a weird dislike.
Zzombie
^^ I don't often play third person shooters and when I do prefer characters close to my screen center. Something like MassEffect will do for me.
spindoctor
Thats a weird dislike. not really. in a 3rd person game, i prefer the camera centered over the character too, instead of over the shoulder (above and to the right) like in dead space/gears of war etc.given a choice i'd change it in a heartbeat. even used a mod that did this in fallout new vegas. Solitaire
Chapter / location? Into Chapter 7. The game is definitely not as scary as some of you have been making it out to be, but it certainly is creepy. Some of the areas the game takes you to really kickstart your imagination as to what might have taken place there. There are also small scenes that take place as you explore the map that vary from disturbing to downright awful. Unfortunately, one flaw from the first game has gotten carried over to this one. The game just shuttles you from place to place without any clear explanation of why exactly you are suuposed to be doing what you are doing. It simply straps the harness on you and rides you. But a terrific experience so far. I dont know how the hours flew by. The room where you have to line up 4 blocks each inside two rooms on either side to reveal the computer core. In the room on the left, don't line it up to make them all green. First, line it up such that the blocks turn blue (they'll turn red if wrongly aligned). This will let you access a hidden area with aforementioned loot. Then get back to arranging it to show all green. I assume you've passed this place now cos you're in chapter 9 now. I haven't played the past day or so.

Something like MassEffect will do for me. It's meant to limit your FOV in some way so that you will always tend to think (atleast in the back of your mind) "What if something jumps at me from that side where I can't really see it in advance". Works if you ask me.

AFTER your present location. Chapter 7. After you go up the elevator and look around that space station keep a watch for a room where you'll have to set patterned blocks into spaces to reveal the computer's core or whatever it is (after going through a rotatable crawl space). You'll know it when you get there.
spindoctor
thanks for the tip. i'm miserably low on power nodes... in fact, i've only gotten about 10-12 in the entire game so far. 3 were wasted opening secret doors, 3 each went into cutter and rig upgrades and maybe 2 into the plasma rifle. almost half way through the game and i only have barely 1 real upgrade point per item :| i don't really like the dead space upgrade system. firstly, i've never understood why they have to make upgrades through their tree system where you can end up wasting more nodes on linking branches than actually upgrading stuff. i do take the time to explore rooms thoroughly, i break the crates, stomp the dead necromorphs etc. i would say that ideally, by the end of the game, you should be able to reasonably upgrade at least 4 weapons that you can carry and your rig. maybe not max it all out, but surely it shouldn't come to the point where you have weapons that are barely better than what you started with. look at the plasma cutter... i think it has about 15-20 nodes that you need to link just to fully upgrade the weapon. at the rate i'm going, it will take me almost 75% of the game just to get that many, and then i'd have to dump them all into one single weapon. the same thing happened to me with dead space 1... i ended the game with only 2 or 3 weapons having just a few upgrade points each. i understand the rpg style upgrade system they're going for but it should be balanced/designed a little better. it's akin to making an rpg game with a level cap of 30, will all sorts of cool stuff that you can do at higher levels, but then having the game always end before you reach level 10. Taker
there is no demo for PC so can anybody who bought PC version please tell me how are the controls First one had terrible controls
spindoctor
the controls in the second one are far, far better. they still left in the vsync bug though, so you'll have to force that manually, but otherwise the controls are very well done. spindoctor
thank you one more question is it scarier than first (even though first was not scary but had it's moments) i think it is. a lot of that has to do with the atmosphere, which i feel is significantly improved over the first game. it's definitely the better game as far as i'm concerned, and i think that's a widely held view. Karooo
You rarely get nodes. When you reach the end you will have 200k cash + enough nodes to upgrade one weapon. Also sell unwanted ammo which increases your credits a lot. There is a suit that gives 15% discount, use that and buy as many nodes as you can. By the end of second playthrough, I upgraded rig, stasis and four weapons.

MarketTantrik
Finished the game! Excellent experience inspite of the cheap tricks used. I liked the throwback to the first game's ending in this one's. Strangely, I actually enjoyed collecting the trophies in this one and watching my trophy count rack up. May have to start taking trophies seriously Edit: Why the f**k is my playfire trophycard only showing 41 trophies? I have nearly 300 of them Changed the provider. Playfire's card sucks. Solitaire
All I have as of now (somewhere in the middle of chapter seven) is the assault rifle (for dealing with those gollum-like buggers) and line gun and plasma cutter , of which 3 attributes on 2 of the weapons have been upgraded with nodes and I've used a few nodes on the rig and one or two on stasis as well. I stomp in pretty much every dead body (not just necros) and go out of my way to collect stuff but I don't see myself being able to max out even one of the weapons unless I concentrate on one weapon alone. Using that security suit for now. I won't do another playthrough either.
MarketTantrik
Just keep about 40K spare for the advanced suit and use all your excess cash to buy power nodes from the store.
