HundredProofSam
the pc version at MRP would be a better deal than the console version at 75% off. Sure it would.

Maximus
Finally got the courage to play the single player of this (had pre-ordered it), started yesterday. The train level was simply awesome and the Nicole scenes are absolutely mesmeric, especially during the opening credits.
Maximus
Currently on Chapter 4 but been able to differentiate the change in chapters in this one, no tram stations for chapter ends. Is there any sign which signals the end of a chapter.
Tyler
Nothing except the "Chapter <number>" text that pops up at the bottom left. The lack of chapter titles this time is rather disappointing especially since it added up to a nice easter egg in the last game.
spindoctor
the chapter title shows up on your screen when you start a new one. edit - or maybe it was just the chapter number like tyler said. can't remember.

Aftrunner
Hmm I got a refurbished Plasma cutter, I am guessing thats because the game detected a DS1 save on my HDD/GT. But it seems to do the same thing that the regular Plasma cutter is doing. What gives?

Perhaps you didn't upgrade it with any nodes or something back then?
Aftrunner
Nope. Same stats as the regular Plasma cutter. No difference at all. So I sold the DS2 cutter. Maybe the upgrade branches are different but doesnt matter, I sold the DS2 PC pretty soon after that. I almost started on Easy but glad I didnt. Game is a cakewalk on normal so far (chapter 5), I am drowning in Plasma cutter ammo. Seriously, I have like 100 shots of it stored and another 100 in my inventory. Aftrunner
^^I already know that. So it seems that the only benefit to having two of those is that if you upgrade one the other gets upgraded automatically. I am guessing if I had held on to the other one I could have sold it for a lot more.
Maximus
Why do we have to go back to the Ishimura? Got a nostalgic yet creepy feeling and walking for minutes through the lonely corridors sent a chill down the spine to the extent I couldn't take it. Will continue tonight! Awesome game. Story related spoilers above.
dylanjosh
That was one of my favourite parts ^
MarketTantrik
The name "Ishimura" makes me chuckle when taken in the context of Dead Space. It triggers the image of Kurmura or Kurkure in my mind.
Aftrunner
Returning to the Ishimura in chapter 9 was a really great moment. Its actually one of the few scary parts of the game so far. ^^Chapter 10 spoilers. Dont look if you havent finished it. Also its looking like its gonna be a short game. 10 chapters in and I am at the 5 hour mark. I am guessing its gonna be 7-8 hours-ish tops. Not ideal but not bad either. And there are some pretty random difficulty spikes. For the most part the game is a cakewalk but every now and then (esp post chapter 6) it seems to throw you into a small room with 6-7 necromorphs and no room to maneuver. Even with a mid upgraded Stasis those sections can be a real pain in the a*s.
Buzz
Haven't they made it easier than the first part or maybe the sense of isolation that was there in the first games is somewhat lost?
Aftrunner
Personally, its definitely easier and less scarier than the first one. Its less scary since I have already played DS1 and know what to expect most of the times. Same thing happened with RE5. And its easier because there is no sense of tension when it comes to ammo. In something like RE you have to make every shot count, this was somewhat true of DS1 as well. Here the game pretty much throws ammo and money at you at every other step. And you can buy ammo at the stores (I know you could do it in DS1 as well but I never had as much money in that game as I do here). I have like 100k credits on me with nothing much to spend on. I could drown myself in medkits and ammo from the store if I wanted. Mind you, its still a cracking good game though. There are some absolutely stunning moments. The game is good no doubt but it is definetly easier than DS1.
