Dead Space 2

Story wise, I liked DS1 more. The atmosphere that it created was just awesome. DS2 looses in the story department. I mean yeah it's good but nothing compared to DS1. But the good thing about this game is that there is no back-tracking.

And Issac's voice.

When he screams "*beep* you and f**k your Marker!!" right before the final boss, I was pumped up with adrenalin :bandit:

Yeah it didnt feel scary but I think the action parts felt a lot tighter. Like someone else said, its more like Aliens this time rather than Alien. Doesnt mean its not good though.

DS1 didn't scare me as well. I loved both games though.

There was a room in DS1.. where when you entered they would lock the exits, flood you with many Necromorphs and 1 regenerator. And you had to stay inside for a particular time.

That really made me sh*t my pants. :fear: I couldn't touch the game for a couple of days after that.

Yeah I remember that. What I did not realize is that the door is unlocked after a while and you have to escape. But I was all acting like a badass and slaughtered the necros and didn't realize the re-generator well....regenerates. Wasted 90% of my ammo there <_<

Never touched the game for 4 months after that. :fear:

Both are awesome games in their own right. Better story and the element of surprise in the first one (though not too bad in the 2nd either) and varied atmospheres and great gameplay in the 2nd.

Cant wait for the 3rd. :wOOtjumpy:

How is getting mobbed by dozens of enemies "scary"? It's tense but definitely not scary. You guys need to play some Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, Amnesia or Siren. Now that is truly scary stuff.

DS2 was less scary as compared to DS1

You already knew what to do... plus the weapons were more deadly in the sequel....u could take on armies with a full upgraded plasma cutter

I don't know about you guys but my definition of scary is something that gets under your skin and stays with you even after you've shut it off. Hell I cannot play Amnesia for more than an hour without getting all creeped out. And after that I feel compelled to watch something light. And that is a game which doesn't have any sort of combat and very few enemies.

Dead Space was great no doubt but it was all about intense action and jumpy moments. Hardly anything you'll think about while going to get a glass of water in the middle of the night. It's always advertised as a horror game which is actually only partially true. Sure the setting and story involves supernatural stuff and some gory proceedings but the Necromorphs could easily be any standard issue aliens and it wouldn't be any different. It's like how Aliens is an action movie while the original Alien is horror.
