Great thread so far!

I would like to add another personal fav of mine - B wings!

The start up screen where you had to pick a fighter used to make me giddy because we had so many to choose from. My personal fav was the one with two revolving black balls around the fighter - HAMMER!

The sound design of this game was Epic. It was so easy to make out that someone was playing B wings in the noisy arcade.

:)

Freegin helll.........wow...completely 4got bout this one....

used to play this with 1 rupee coins to the nearby tailor shop who had this & mario outside.

great game....mayeb they'll take out a Hd version for PS3 soon :O

Alright Nintendo/Sega/Playstation fanboys, this thread needs more goddamn ATARI love!

Don't let me get away with thinking that I'm the only one truly old school enough to mention it. The Atari days were totally awesome and for many gamers across the world, it was their first affair with console gaming. C'mon back me up here if you played any of the following.

Enduro - the most spectacular racer (sim?) in its time. Very believable weather/day-night effects.

Grand Prix - awww.

River Raid - a fine shmup, made a tinkling sound everytime you flew over a fuel tank

Frogs And Flies - best enjoyed 1v1

Boxing - responsible for many broken controllers

Keystone Kapers - WAY AHEAD of its time. I've downed hours on this one and River Raid. Activision would certainly profit from a DS remake.

Can't recall too many names, had to look up even the ones listed above. Okay, that about sums up my formative years. Now I know who to blame for my poor social skills.

So if you spend the next hour Youtubing, getting all fuzzy and wishing these video walkthroughs existed when you couldn't figure out what to do- consider yourself hardcore.

Those games look awesome. I never owned an Atari but I had awesome time at my friend's place on his Atari 2600. We'd play Air raiders and bunch of other games, all those on uber cool Joysticks. :(

Sweet memories.
