reaper Posted December 17, 2007 Report Share Posted December 17, 2007 no ... u need to change the default operating system system in XBM menu to other OS .. . the other OS boots up automatically everytime u start ur PS3 .... to go back to the XBM menu, u have to hold down the power button itll ur PS3 beeps twice .... Appreciate that. I have not experienced YDL yet but I have used UBUNTU on PC. It was rather simple and light weight. One can pick up real quick. nameless Posted January 15, 2008 Report Share Posted January 15, 2008 Installed OpenSuse 10.3 a couple of weeks back. Having an alternative OS in PS3 is good (Posting from it currently). But it is damn slow, opening any application or already installed games is pretty slow. Only good for browsing as of now. That is the only thing I use a PC for so works ok for me. Yeah I knw its nt replacer, and I use PC basically for surfing, music and IM...and I think all these functions are very well performed by PS3. Get urself one. Its worth every penny.
