anish81
Hi all, since the day before yesterday i am facing a strange problem. While playing MW2 on PS3 at night, i am hearing PS3 blue ray drive making noise. It's like computer disk drives making noise when reading a disk. As seems the blue-ray disk has not been seated properly. I can't remember hearing this noise before last two days. Anything went wrong??? My 80GB PS3 is only three months old. Though it's not hampering my gameplay at all. I have only MW2 right now, and it's playing normally. I'm little paranoid with the cause of this noise. Is it normal. Do u guys also face it?? Pls advice.
babj1
i dont think that is normal....since it is just 3 months old i'll suggest you keep your bills handy... just incase you need them... ....

Puneet.Chandila
I don't know about the level of noise its making in your case but a little disc reading noise comes in almost all the PS3. Are you hearing these noise while playing in night or day because its generally in nights this reading noise seems to be to loud.
anish81
Actually the noise is not loud. can only be heard at night, that too during the loading screen. Because it gets suppressed by the game sound. It's something u can also hear when PC HDD making some heavy disk access. But, the thing is it was not there before last two days. Is it OK?? wickedbl0ke
the ps3 is sup to work like butter. the noise may not be a problem now but it may turn out to be one in the long run. why take the risk? especially when u got ur warranty in tact! go after those sony mothafackers and tell them the situation. ive heard this noise before on the xbox and it was coz the disc was bouncing up an down..dont knw in ur case but check it up....dont play on a non smooth working console. dragon_unleashed
take your console to service centre before this problem gets big and i'm sure u have warranty left.

Puneet.Chandila
PS3 making noise , while reading a disk is normal. But to be on the safer side get your system checked with Sony service, otherwise you will always have fear in your mind. Bulovski
I have been hearing this weird drive sound when playing AC2. Should I be worried? It's surprising because the game is installed on the HDD right?
Jigsaw
Disc drives making noises is not a feature the ps3 is endowed with. It only does everything except making noises from the disc drives. The 360 has had this feature enabled from a long time, atleast the units before falcon did. And im not a ps-fanboi... Love my 360 equally Gramps and anyone else affected, have it escalated to Sony. Especially when its still under warranty.
