Need suggestions for buying a data card for notebook

Hello forum. I need to buy a data card to access internet on my notebook. I have no idea about which one to go for in terms of:

1.Best speed

2.Best tariff plans(i.e. cheapest)

3.Best coverage even in rural areas.

So out of Tata, BSNL, Reliance or Airtel which one should I choose? And which plan i.e. Unlimited or not? And it would be really useful if some of u guys can elaborate on the tariff plans of these various data cards. The information given on respective websites is a mess.

Thanks

i am using reliance netconnect and so far satisfied with the service. the download speed are in the range of 250-300kBps.n coverage of relaince is best out of all the providers.so i think you go for reliance.

how much actual download speed u get while downloading sth? What is the price u have to pay for the device? and how r monthly rentals? do u have unlimited tariff?

^ Not to mention its prepaid too

been using photon+, happy with the service

5GB limit plan but hate how its only postpaid since this is not my primary connection

also sucks shelling out 3500 bucks for a device but works with all OS including Mac

this one is broadband right? but i think it hasnt got unlimited plan.. how much u pay for the 5gb plan? what is the highest plan?

Thanks

I have reliance netconnect too. Have the Rs.1049 plan with 3 gb day + 10 Gb nite. There is no unlimited plan on this bro. The max u can get is 15 GB per month (no day/nite restriction) but thats Rs. 1750. Speeds are excellent. Torrents give me 160 kbps average, peaking at 230 kbps sometimes. Surfing is great. And its easy to connect and setup as well.

Don't go for the prepaid plan as that turns out to be expensive.

I dont know about rural coverage bro, the broadband itself is limited to the cities mentioned on this page. Check it out. you can get actual maps with coverage areas as well.

^^thanks for the input guys. there is no broadband coverage in the areas where i live. i checked the maps on link sent by Death Stryke. the only option left for me is High speed 1x.. and according to u guys, reliance is the best option. will check out for postpaid tariff plans cos i also think that the prepaid turns out to be more expensive

Reliance NetConnect and the Tata Photon Plus are the best plans. Its a little pricey for the USB device but well worth in the long run. Only thing is that you need to make sure that this would not be your primary connection coz ive had troubles with it when i needed it the most. Check out your options and yeah....cheap does not all the time mean bad. Check out your options.

Is reliance NetConnect bb? And abt the download limits, do they allow unlimited browsing or both browsing and downloading are restricted?

none of the usb dongle datacards have unlimited access afaik.

The gf uses reliance and it gives great speeds when the gods smile. About 70KBps ( yeah kilobytes ). But at the same time its shaky and won't connect for a long time at times.
