Haha! Because we Wii owners got lucky!

Yeah, the previous games for the Monster Hunter series were developed for PS2 and PSP, but it looks like PS3 is too difficult/expensive to develop for, so Capcom decided to go with Wii only for MH3.

You have to remember that developing games for 360 and especially PS3 is a lot more expensive, because there has to be a lot more detail on the artwork and modeling, to pass the bar for graphics on those systems. I bet Capcom was also influenced by Wii's high market penetration, even while PS3's has lagged.

Wii owners will now luck out on this truly sweet title from a great series. This game has already been released in Japan, and was supposed to be out in North America for the holidays, but it now seems to have been pushed back by Capcom until Q2 of 2010, because they're afraid it might cannibalize sales from their other products. But to me that means they'll likely go all-out to push it when they do release it.

It will have online co-op multiplay on Capcom's hosted servers. I hope that they don't charge fees for the online service, like they do in Japan. I'm thinking it would be more profitable if they at least gave basic online play for free, and then only charged for enhanced online services.

Demons Souls, God East - bah, they just don't measure up to Monster Hunter

Demons Souls has a very drab feel to it, compared to Monster Hunter

The world of Monster Hunter is very colourful and beautiful, while Demons Souls is just drab and dreary, like you're waiting to die

EXACTLY and that is what it makes it so great. awesome atmosphere and that isolation feel.

I am not saying colors are for sissies (huge ratchet and clank fan here) but every presentation has its place. Monster hunter is a very good series, i just posted demons souls as it obviously borrowed the combat style from this game/series.

I hate playing games that are all doom and gloom - makes you want to have your player commit suicide right away

Monster Hunter is adventurous, like Lord of the Rings - sure, there are some really big-a*s scary monsters in it, but the story setting is one of adventure and wonder

Demon Souls is just one long tension-inducing nightmare

There's no bright side to it at all.

I think Monster Hunter's emphasis on co-operative play fits in well with Wii's strengths in social gaming and group fun. Monster Hunter wants you to join up with others to form a hunting band, to go out and tackle those big monsters.
