Russia has called US's bluff. Now Xi simply has to go to Taiwan, go to the PM's office and point out - "Look at US. They won't even defend their fellow White Europeans, who were on the verge of joining NATO. What chance do you have? How can you even think they will come to defend you?" Russia has also decisively proven - that the US is a paper tiger. They can only go after Iraq, Syria and all other small players with no allies. But once a major power enters into the fray, they fold like a pack of cards. Most likely both Taiwan and Hong Kong will easily fold into China soon enough, without even an invasion. US's word is mud, and it has been so proved. Same for the remaining erstwhile USSR East EU countries, who think they are NATO members now. Countries like Romania, Poland etc. Slowly they will also most likely slide into Russian sphere of influence. It has proved a valuable geography lesson to everyone. It's better to have an ally next door rather than an ally half a world away. As far as "Hatred of the World" and "Sanctions" goes - I don't think Putin cares. Right now, Russia and China are together, and the West needs Russia + China than the other way around. EU uses oil from Russia. If they switch over to US, they are looking at a steep increase in prices, which will lead to inflation, downward economy, joblessness and everything else. For halting US$ transactions, and bank transactions - there is always China. They have a huge supply of US$. They also have channels to transfer funds, and make purchases on behalf of Russia. For Putin and Xi - this is a golden opportunity to weaken the power of the US$ and introduce alternate Global Currencies that can ultimately end US Hegemony on Global Financial Markets. For India specifically - there really was no move we could have made other than abstain. We are not getting the moral high ground in any manner. If we had condemned Russia - Putin would simply have turned around and asked us - "Where was our condemnation and pity for civilians when US was doing chemical Warfare against Vietnam (A Genuine Horrifying War Crime), killing off Iraq, bombing Syria, bombing Libya and all other such stuff with very high civilian casualties"? Worse, majority of our defense equipment comes from Russia, and we are dependent on them for Spare Parts, repairs, upgrades etc. Even worse, Russia could have openly supported China and Pakistan as they take our country piece by piece. If we had supported Russia - US would have imposed sanctions on us as well, and China would have been that much stronger. Our economy is bad as it is, and our own civilians would have suffered all the more. We would have been throttled. Even now though, without even taking part, I think we might see our fuel prices increasing as Global Crude prices goes up due to this war. Which will lead to price rise here. Hopefully, for once, Modi and Nirmala Sitharaman take pity on the common people and reduce the tax on fuel. We now get to thank our leaders and scientists like AB Vajpayee, Dr Homi Bhabha, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam etc. who gave us our Nuclear and Missile Programme. This is the time they have proven their worth in gold. This is the time they have proven beyond all doubt that they were worth it, despite all sanctions imposed on us. Without our nukes, right now there was a very high possibility that China et al. would be invading us, just like Russia invaded Ukraine. They would know US and NATO would do nothing beyond toothless "Sanctions". Abstaining and not joining in another person's war - That's a luxury afforded to us by these great people. it's not available to everyone. USA, Russia, China etc. - they are all bullies. Ukraine should never have listened to any one of them. They gave up their nukes, based on bullies' words of "I promise I will protect you (USA)", and "I promise I won't harm you (Russia)", along with some free lunch money (NSG Membership, some economic help etc.). If they had kept their arsenal, they would not be facing this situation today. Anyway, that's just my opinion. It could be completely wrong and I do not mean to offend anyone. These western cucks who are almost threatening India on inconsequential UNSC vote for Russia, will do squat if China tries to do another Galwan. Adding to that Biden is China's bitch, his family has got expensive gifts and hookers from China. China has completely infiltrated Democrats. When Biden couldn't do sh*t about Ukraine where he had commercial interests via his son, he will not do nothing about China's adventures, Chinese might even have incriminating evidences against him. Usually such violence is caused by men, but in this case women were the main perpetrators. And the victim had earlier raped the accused women's 16 year old son and he had committed suicide.
