Really happy for him. His wife had taken over his double storied house and forced himself and his family to live on rent, by misusing the pathetic dv act. Fortunately court ordered her to vacate. But still he has to pay rent to his wife.

Even an LS MP has to go through this sh*t ?

Hey man. One of the few opportunities of seeing a politician cry tears of pain. Imma take it.

Too bad those were tears of relief and not pain. He got his bungalow back for 30k per month pocket change. The worst is over.

If she can't prove dv which she won't be able to because it didn't happen, she will have to return all money back.

In all these cases, the initial pressure is during first 3-4 years. The weak or those who don't get support crumble and pay up, or die by suicide. Once these 3-4 years are done, the woman comes back to settle on pittance or even 0 alimony, because she is already hitting the proverbial "wall" and wants to move on.

It's a game of psychology. 90% mental game and 10% legal.

Unfortunately India is full of weak men and even weaker parents, so many aren't good enough to fight back. Most suicides of men involve pressure or guilt tripping by their own parents and siblings rather than the pressure from their wives filing cases. Parental alienation is another major cause. And yes, it happens more in North India because most parents like to control lives of their sons till he becomes old or till they die. Too much family drama.
