So that would be 2000.. Damn the black terminal window.. The modem sound for dial-up connection.. My cablewallah used to give a list of UNs & PWs (obviously stolen/hacked) to try from every week.. .. After that BSNL launched SancharNet (?) where you could use the landline number as UN/PW for accessing net.. Then Reliance came with a speed of 155 .. And then there was Sify.. Every time someone answered the phone the connection used to drop. 1year and 100mb bandwidth package. I remember travelling through India @ the end of 2000, and regularly spending an hour at an internet cafe to open one and a half text-based emails. Pure hell!
