Pushy
How would you like to play GT5 with only dashboard view? Sure its the perfect way to fully enjoy the realism and all, but is it practical? Yes...coz thats what Sim's do...when u drive a car, u do it in first person perspective and not third... HundredProofSam
So the guy playing it in TP view will miss out on all the bells and whistles, but at least he'll be able to play it, right? I Wouldn't mind the generic feel of it, there aren't many pure platformers around on current-gen to begin with, most of them from Ubisoft and they babysit you all the way to finish line. I'd hate to let this one go again. If they make the same game playable in first and third person, the people who play it in third person will hate it and criticise it because if you look at it from that POV, the platforming is extremely basic. Whatever challenge comes is from the first person perspective. Jumping from one rooftop/ledge to another or traversing across monkey bars in a 3rd person action game or platformer is a mundane task that doesn't pose any challenge. But the same thing in Mirror's Edge is a challenge and a thrill each time, not only because its in first person but also because of all those bells and whistles. Doing platforming in first person view is not fun, ask anyone who has played final sections of Half Life. Again, you're generalising Mirror's Edge's first person perspective as simply a camera angle. Platforming in Mirrors Edge is nothing like it was in Half-Life. peace
