Played the demo.

Firstly, the game is simply gorgeous, a real treat for the eyes.

The game is like a TPS translation of those scrolling Japanese shooter like R-Type. Its fast, its visceral, there's almost too much happening on screen and it can get quite brutal. And I absolutely love it.

Think of it as Bayonetta meets Gears and you'll get a slight idea of what its like. Completely OTT but oh so much fun.

One thing though, its so far in the future that they have reactors in mobile armored suits, but soldiers still carry a clunky, slow manual shotgun.

OK just finished the demo on both, casual and normal difficulty. Looks like an awesome sci-fi shooter. They included a tutorial and one section of the main chapter in the demo. The game looks like a futuristic version of Lost Planet 2. The character movement, motion blur and the explosion effects bear a striking resemblance with the LP2. The game itself is blazing fast. You can go through the tutorial to familiarise yourself with the controls and the gameplay. Weapon range include a shotgun, Assault Rifle, Heavy Assault Rifle and 2 set of grenades (EMP and standard). Your ARS suit has 2 main features, boost (ground slide) and time slow down mechanism. The latter gets automatically activated when you take a massive hit and need time to recuperate or take cover. You can manually activate time slow down as well. Both the boost and bullet time feature are limited to the energy bar available on your HUD. Once it's over, the suit overheats and needs time to recharge. Voice job is pretty decent and the 3D cut-scenes are rendered flawlessly. The graphics seemed a bit dull and not very sharp on the 360. Not bad for a 450MB demo which lasts you for 22 minutes. Let's hope the full game is a long journey.

I'm not sure what engine they are using, but something tells me that if Platinum Games decide to go the PC way, then it will turn out to be a visual bliss.

Just finished the demo.... damn, fast paced is an understatement. Thoroughly enjoyed the level.

How do you trigger that sequence where the robot goes for you and your character runs up the arms and the robot fires a missile at you? I did it once but I have no idea how to do it again. And the one time that I did do it, I was looking elsewhere when the game was telling me to twirl the analog stick. So I got shot out of the air and didn't see whatever should have followed!

You need to rotate the right analog stick in this sequence; clockwise, anti-clockwise and clockwise again. Once this is successfully execute this, Sam will grab hold of the last missile and thrust it back into the Argus's arm.

I did keep doing it after I missed the quicktime event, but it didn't happen again, I just blew the arm off.

You just have one shot at that. If you miss the QTE, it destroys the part of the arm which fires missiles and sends you back to the battle area.
