silentassassin
The people over at Platinum Games, JP Kellams in particular, wasn't too pleased with the remark and responded to the review via his official Twitter account: "GameInformer: "Don't be surprised if you finish your first playthrough in four hours." Really? Because it would surprise the hell out of us." Later on in the day, he added: "Even in Casual Auto it doesn't make sense, nor is it indicative of how long a normal gamer's playthough would take." CarbonCore
Yeah I expect about 6-7 hours of gameplay only (plus 3 hours of cutscenes) on first playthrough without doing challenge rooms. Btw did anyone try the Japanese challenge demo? I'm having hard time staying alive for more than 2 minutes :|

CarbonCore
I like your optimism. Wanna help me move some funds out of Nigeria? Well I've already spent more than an hour on the 15 min demo. And thats just one area with a miniboss. 6-7 hours is being pessimistic, unless I'm on a deadline to finish a review. Plus I like watching cutscenes :/ 3 hours of cutscenes. If only.. :| Mikami did say Vanquish has 3 hours of cutscenes
Aftrunner
And I have played L4D 2 for 350+ hours. Doesnt mean the game is 350 hours long. My guess. 4-5 hours on normal. Plus another hour for cutscenes tops.

Dude I didn't pull 3 hours from thin air http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/06/17/mikami_discusses_vanquish/ "Mikami said to expect a play time of around 7 hours. Adding in demo scenes and other non gameplay areas, and the game becomes a 10 hour experience."

dullu
LOL a game really has to suck to get less than an 8 from Game Informer. I can see the excuses now. "The Western media just don't get it" peace You know what? After what Ninja Theory did to Dante; i would not refute that claim
CarbonCore
I can see the excuses now. "The Western media just don't get it" I'm sure western media was perfectly ok with Mikami's previous games, some even got multiple GOTYs. dante77
I said Western media, not developers. If NT don't get DMC, then more than them it's Capcom who should be blamed for still hiring them. NT will make the game their way. It's upto Capcom do decide which way DMC goes. So if DMC goes downhill after NT's game, blame Capcom. peace That is exactly what I said in DMC thread. If you give a gun to a 5 year old kid and hope to win a war by that, whose mistake will it be? Karooo
Here come the "DMC" fans Bu bu they spoiled my unreleased game
CarbonCore
I don't know why you guys are so disappointed by new DMC, it was kinda obvious that DMC3 and RE4 were the high points those IPs. It was always going to go downhill after that, a point proven by their current gen sequels. If you think new DMC is bad, wait till they reveal RE6. The people who worked on those original games have moved on to new IPs, its time you guys should too.
