silentassassin
If a trend for the price of polycarbonate to continuously rise continues, then we are looking at a potential increase in the price of video games and other optical discs. At least these are the thoughts of DigiTimes. Procurement prices for polycarbonate, a key material to make blank optical discs, have been rising for a while, but Taiwan-based disc makers have not yet hiked their quotes, according to industry sources. However, if costs further increase in the first quarter of 2010, optical disc makers are likely to raise their quotes around the end of the quarter, the sources pointed out. http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20100201PD204.html
Aftrunner
Seems like sensationalist BS. Honestly how much could a disc cost? And even if the price increases (even if its by a huge margin) how big a difference would it make? 2-3 % of the overall cost? At best?
Jigsaw
will the *ahem-ed* game disc become costlier too? No price hike is good, but i just don't see this happening!
