ThE JuGgErNaUT
A frd & i vr planning a short weekend getaway nr delhi. she's flyin down from pune & her families in delhi (& they're really conservative, to the extent of "ladke se baat kari??") with frds/relative in gurgaon (so my place is out). need suggestions to someplace whr i can drive to in MAX 2-3 hrs from the domestic airport. nothing too lavish/expensive. constraints : - rajasthan mainstream like Jaipur & neemrana out as she's from Raj, & if we're seen together, i'll either be married or beheaded the same day (& i'm too young for the former, latters actually a better option) -things on delhi-hardwar rd out as studied in roorkee, so have seen enough of those places for a lifetime. plus roads REALLY bad these days. -Tarudhan valley out.....too many times -agra out.....2 many times, plus actual travel times more than 4-5 hrs fire away

ACPN
Wow thts tough... 3 hrs drive that also not Rajasthan... damn thats a toughy for me tooo... Let me think 1. Mud Fort, Kuchesa... about 80 kms from Delhi near Hapur: never been hear, but heard its really authentic 2. Heritage Village, Manesar: I really like this place.. All inclusive and a quite place.. 3. Pataudi Palace: One of the hidden neemrana properties... close to gurgaon but still far away... Fantastic location and away from the city bustle 4. Tree House, Bhiwadi: Again havent been their, but my wife went their for day conference and like it very much as a quite get away 5. Fort Unchagaon: This i really recommend... Nice authentic place.. close by.. around 120 kms away... near Moradabad Apart from these their are places in Surajkund, behror, rewari which i would not recommend for a quite and peaceful stay for both of you.. Let me know if this helps Cheers
ACPN
and BTW Sariska is not a bad place... you have mentioned no mainstream Rajasthan... The palace is a good option but i like the RTDC lodge... but better and personal... Also i have heard that there are these luxury tents near sariska... a great outdoor place... search on the net and let me know if you find anything on this...
