My laptop just about manages to run Hitman Blood Money, so it's not exactly meant for hard core gaming. Last time I played a proper game on a PC was roller coaster tycoon, I think . So, I spent almost 25k (Which is huge for me!) to build a good PC for gaming (ESP GTA 4) yet am not able to play a game on at least medium settings! So, when I heard that GTA 5 was released only for last gen consoles but not for PCs, I everyday googled regarding it's release, was fed up with the rumours and, and bought an Xbox 360 Slim! Not a wise move. You should have waited at least till E3 before jumping in for 9 year old console. Also, before buying PC, make sure to spread out your budget and components.
