Tried all the things.. un-pin/re-pin, soft reset, disable/enable background task, uninstall-reinstall the app.. nothing is working..

this is soooo irritating :(

anyone have any solution for this (apart from hard reset)??

If I format and install a new window on my laptop, will it void my laptop's warranty?

If it is not a legit copy, definitely, not so sure about what the policy is with a licensed copy of the software being installed. Best ask the customer care.

Are you sure? Because I am talking about removing their genuine OS and installing mine. And pirated windows will void the warranty, right? If I install a genuine window, I am fine, right?

and these laptop policies are so sucky  I can't install VLC in it

pfft! You can install and do whatever you want with software. My netbook came with Windows 7..I removed it and booted Windows 8.. Later had some issue and gave it for service under warranty, all went fine.

They don't care what software you use..Just don't mess up with hardware.

(unless you know what you are doing)

Also, what you mean, you can't install VLC?

Yes, technically a pirated OS should void the warranty but if that is not the case then change away if you feel the need.

What do you mean, cannot install VLC? Is it incompatible, how so?
