The Wolfy among us
Highly doubtful since MS has gone on record saying that an office key be used with only one system? Unsure if they let you deactivate a system though.
avkash
it is the same system right, hardware wise
godspeed4476
@GS brah: It was an original key, not a jugaad one. Try re-entering the key once you install MSO 2013.My office account shows no product so I thought it is a jugaad key I have reinstalled the preview and in rhe word it says product activated. So I am good now?

avkash
you download the same installers, i think, unless you provide a valid key it remains a preview, AFAIK

Somebody
Microsoft’s hardware, round 2: Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2October 22 launch. Surface Pro 2 runs $899 and the ARM Surface 2 costs $499. .....The new tablet replaces the first generation's NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor with a Tegra 4, and upgrades the 1366×768 screen to 1920×1080 with better color accuracy. These two changes should redress some of the biggest complaints about the first generation hardware—its weak performance and low screen resolution. The Surface 2 is also thinner and lighter than the Surface RT with 25% more battery life and a USB 3 port...... Surface Pro 2 improves the internals, picking up a Haswell processor, which replaces the Ivy Bridge in the older unit. Microsoft is touting a 75% improvement in battery life. The Surface Pro 2 comes with 64GB, 128Gb, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. The smaller two options come with 4GB of RAM, while the larger two options have 8GB. Beyond that, it looks essentially identical to its predecessor. ..... Source: ArsTechnica
Bird Bird Bird
899 for Pro 2 means ~65-70k in India ! LOLWUT ? Was excited about this before, not so much now. :| Edit: And 899 is the starting price. That 512GB won't be less than 1299$. Face, meet palm. Somebody
^^ I think it's meant to compete with Ultrabooks and the Macbook Air, so considering that, maybe it is reasonably priced for a durable and fast tablet/convertible with a touchscreen? dante77
if they are competing with macbooks and ultrabooks then they should work as one. I don't think that is the case here.

I don't know about the RT models, but I believe the Pro 2 competes quite well.... Said the verge in their hands-on: Paired with the updates coming in Windows 8.1, the Pro 2 might not only be the Windows tablet to get this holiday season, it is likely the laptop to beat, too. What makes you say that it doesn't though? (I've never used it, but based on what I've read)The touchscreen is great and it's got Haswell and a fast processor at least comparable to ultrabooks. Heaven Angel
Core i5 Haswell processor clocked at 1.6GHz, and you can choose from 4GB or 8GB of RAM. With up to 512GB of flash storage nVidia Tegra 4 Full HD 1080p The desktop dock, which supports up to a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution on an external display, and found that removing and attaching the tablet felt plenty secure. http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/23/microsoft-surface-pro-2-hands-on $899 for 64GB of storage. (good premium portable machine, but storage space is quite low. I guess, 512GB version will be $1299 USD?)
Solitaire
Actually the 512GB SSD one (if you put 8gb RAM on it) goes to $1799. $500 for 256gb more of space though it compares to an MBA priced around the same point with the same specs (you can only get either the 1.3Ghz i5 or a 1.7Ghz i7). It's more like a $50 difference effectively for a touchscreen and the tablet form factor if you consider just spec-to-spec differences. Compare the 256GB one to a Macbook air. Same 1299 price, 8gb vs 4gb, touch screen vs non-touch screen, 1.6Ghz i5 vs 1.3Ghz i5, 10.6 inch vs 13 inch screen.

I'm guessing so (seeing the horsepower and 6k raw playing), but it's a 10.6 incher at the end of the day. Tablet form factor. Even @ 899 for 64 GB, max we'll get is around 50-52 GB, which is like a mismatch for the horsepower inside (unless we can open up and upgrade the storage). Not to say that a keyboard on a 10 inch screen seems rather clumsy (fat fingers here). Does not replace laptops, nor will it replace desktops. It's like MS is trying to do many things at once ! Edit: 1799 for the 512 GB ? LOL. And MS is in nowhere in comparison to Apple when it comes to "premium positioning". Apple's pricing was built around the aura Steve Jobs and the company had. And it took years ! If MS thinks they can do the same in just one-gen with LOLWUT Ballmer (and who-so-ever is the CEO now), they gotta be kidding me.
