Samsung Omnia W listed for 21k. Frankly this is the best WP phone to get. Better than the lumia 710. has 90% of what the Lumia 800 has. Just missing the body and cam. But at 21k and today's rupee rate, along with a car charger and BT headset thrown in, this is the best deal IMO. Has a bigger battery too

Yeah, just played around with the Lumia 800. Impressive..but I was kinda hoping to be blown away. I wasn't. The screen is amazingly smooth to touch. Not response, just to touch. Maybe some better oleophobic coating?

The buttons, i.e power/sleep/wake, camera and the volume felt ill fitted and each had a certain 'play' to them. Stuck out and tarnished an otherwise amazing body.

Oh and the guy told me the 710 might be delayed till Jan. It looks much, much cuter and may be a hit with the teenage crowd, especially girls. That is if they ever decide to get off their stupid BBMs

Ok used the Lumia 800 for a few hours. Initial Impressions.

1. Fluid, fluid and great animations and transitions. Never seen a stutter yet. UI is really good and something different.

2. I Love the contacts integration with all the social networks. You can see interactions of a single person over multiple channels and networks which is good. Conversations also continue from sms to facebook chat. Which is nice. You can see everything in 1 place. Also sharing stuff is easy. Just like android you can choose to share anything at any time.

3. Live tiles are a nice concept. Although i still prefer proper notifications.

4. Outlook is brilliant. Opens heavy office files with ease.

Negatives.

1. I dont like how the Network signal bar disappears after a while and you have to manually touch it to see whats the signal level. I dont see why they chose to do that. Even the battery meter disappears in some apps. Dont know what it is

2. App situation is okok. I found a decent twitter app, shazam, evernote, imdb, kindle etc are all there. Facebook app is not good and doesn't have groups feature which is a big miss for me. The apps which make use of the Mango interface and APIs rock though. Very cool.

3. I dont know whats up with the browser. The browser does not show the latest Facebook HTML site with new design and rathers shows that WAP site from the 90s. I had resorted to this because groups was missing from the app.

Overall its a 70/30 experience for me. I hope the app and browser situation improves over time.

Yeah, sorry DS but I have to voice here too coz I'm just sorely disappointed. The Lumia 800 could possibly have the worst display imaginable for a 30k phone, especially compared to the 1.5 yr old iPhone 4 i'm carrying right now.

Infact, the number 1 thing I hate most about mobiles now is AMOLED & Pentile. Separate & together. More together. Fukc Nokia for being so fukcing dumb. Idiots.

I was in the store to buy it and then the display hit me. Really like Mango though and hope better phones come out soon. Nokia's marketing this nice so let's see what happens.
