tell me something good apart from UI with a bit fast experience

1. Better development platform than Android.

2. Consistency in hardware specs which makes recalibration of apps/games easier during QA

3. The cloud services are excellent for product development, updation and additional support.

4. The contacts HUB is much better than any smartphone.

I want drop box to release the official app asap. And some better F1, tennis and EPL and last.fm apps. Runkeeper is there. Oh wait, before all this, bloody updated facebook and twitter apps. The current apps suck donkeys balls. I mean come on!! FB and twitter are basic apps which everyone uses. Comment likes, groups, twitter DMs are missing. In fact, I hope WP updates their people hub to include these features. Its much more convenient to use people hub than the facebook app anyway.

I know I'll miss instagram, flipboard, zite etc. but thats ok, I have an iPad for that. But there are some apps, cant recollect that are so exclusive to iOS. Thing is, you never know u need an app until u see the app or someone develops it. Thats always been the case and iOS wil always get the apps first.

Meanwhile, WP7 has its own glaring faults which i documented earlier. Over the top of my head, notifications.

There are faults I agree. There are some massive issues with the whole thing.

From a developer point of view, it's an amazing platform. From a consumer point of view it's something that can 'potentially' give Apple and Android a serious competition.

I too yearn for the Drop Box app, sadly it doesn't seem to be anywhere on the radar.

The notification for whatsapp is bloody brilliant, it will just give u a tiny weeny buzz and thats it, no auto screen on or any other stuff

And yes the apps are craptacular, the TOI app for instance is just there for sake of it, if you click an article it merely shows you a 20-30 word summary. The Indian railway guide (which is very handy when it works) does not work half the time. FB app is a joke.

Keeping aside the apps issue, its a brilliant platform, the social network integration is fantastic and the UI is just

It has replaced my iphone 4 as a primary phone, however given the choice of keeping only either one of them i would select i4

Today, i'd NOT recommend WP for power users of both android and iOS. People who have lots of apps in both platforms will get frustrated with this. Pathetic app selection aside, available apps perform like crap. Nothing smooth like the OS. There is not 1 usable twitter app yet. Facebook app sucks. Its design itself is so bad because the Title and Heading font sizes are SO big the actual information and content gets only half the screen. That again is inherent WP design which I now realize.

The facebook and twitter integration in the contacts again is broken coz it doesnt allow private messaging in both networks. And like you said, notifications is weird again. I have missed so many whatsapp messages because I wont find out about it unless i unlock the phone.

The OS looks very cool n all, but the browser is not as good as iOS android (check m.facebook.com and mobile gmail on WP browser. Looks like those websites we used to see on nokia phones). Email client is just usable. I dont know why it doesn't download images in emails properly at times. Microsoft fanboys keep saying its so much better but today it isn't. Potential it has, yes, but maybe after 1-2 software revisions it'll be something iOS and Android users will consider, by which time iOS and Android would be far ahead again.

I might get back to iOS soon. Boring/same, whatever, atleast it has good working apps and a brilliant fast browser. Not to mention, bing search is crap here.

Not to mention Nokia's troll move of announcing the Lumia 900 just mere weeks after the 800's launch. I feel sorry for all the folks suckered into buying what was considered top of the line only to be shat on so very soon.

Afaik it is announced only for the US where 800 wasnt launched . .

Well, the Lumia 800 doesn't have a front facing camera. Bit of a downer for me since I do use Skype/FT a lot.

For me it's mega downer . .

I use front facing cam everyday . . My life without it is empty :P

Just hope Lumia 900 makes out here . .

Forget Nokia , any other new windows phone launched recently ??

Htc Titan 2 announced at CES has 16MP Cam :O

Notification system is good . .

Even my friend told about the half baked apps

How could there not be a good FB app . . That's the basic app almost every1 uses . . Pathetic

But he is overall happy with Lumia 800 . Worth a upgrade for him from Android

Edit - My friend said about some SMS bug . . What is that ?? I didnt get what he was saying

I'm not feeling any buyers remorse with the 800. The 900 is far too big for me plus I skype and video chat on my laptop only.

I just want apps to work well. There is a marked difference between performance of the OS in general and 3rd party apps.

WP7 is suffering from classic chicken and egg scenario. Developers will come if WP7 marketshare and userbase increases. While users are waiting for all their favorite apps to come. Tough situation

Nope. 4.3" and still 800x480? What, are they determined to f**k themselves in the a*s?

Edit and still AMOLED too. No two ways about it for me, AMOLED SUCKS.

I accept 800x480 is pretty average ..

But AMOLED is sh*t ... WTF .. U crazy ?????

AMOLED looks awesome

Touch a nerve there, did I?

I have not seen one AMOLED display that I have liked till now. Not ONE. The whites are yellow. Text is not that crisp, Overall the colors are more than saturated. The only good thing is they have better blacks.

For the last time, 'retina' is a marketing term for >300ppi resolution. I'm comparing LCD to AMOLED.

I like the display of the 17k SE Neo V much more than I liked the Lumia 800 or even the LCD 710. Something tells me Nokia's clear black tech may be a problem too.
