avkash
@ the discussion, but yeah Nokia was world leader in mobile phones with no one even close, they were just playing it safe, they did take a few risks (N game and those touchscreen brick phones long before the iPhone) but they really lacked the innovation and were out done by the world's most innovative tech company. They should've done better, I think the Meego was a good option the OS looks really nice. Sad that they ditched it.
Big Boss
@ SZ I actually did throw mine a couple of times and very badly too, but thanks to the 'build quality' it survived Also, I sold it 6 months later for 10k, that was a 12k loss, in 6 months !! But then I got the iPhone Yeah, my friend threw his N73 once. That was the last time he threw it. He is still using that phone as his music player

Big Boss
It's not a Symbian thread Well, whats there to talk about Windows phone 7? There are 3 phones in the market, the OS will get relevant updates Q4 2012, if it lasts that is.

They never do it well in the first shot but keep getting better every iteration. Case in point - Xbox -> Xbox360

Ne0
Man, speaking of companies circling the drain. Every single company is suffering losses in billions these days. Only Google, Apple, Nokia, MS, Samsung have made decent profits. Sony 4 billion loss in 2011. Motorola similar. LG, HTC also murky outlook. Canon is losing money, Kodak is dead. Wow, wonder how the future looks. Converging devices offered by Apple, Google, Microsoft etc are killing standalones offered by Canon, Sony, LG and the like. Sad to see the state of Sony, world leader in electronics one day, and look at it now, playing second fiddle to other companies in almost all departments

Death Stryke
Well, if u sit on your a*s doing nothing creative, this is what happens. Tech is so fiercely competitive these days and moving at the speed of light. Sony hasn't done anything exciting since a long time. Rehash and rebrand the same ol TVs again n again. Playstation Vita isn't doing all that well either. Frankly, the market is different today compared to 2005 when the 1st Ps Portable released. The number of people interested in a dedicated handheld is much less today methinks.
Big Boss
I used Lumia 710 for quite an extended period of time today at Ezone, much to the frustration of the sales guys. I must say I was quite impressed with the OS. It was slick and had some nifty effects, which I couldn't observe during my use of Lumia earlier. The phone OS looked really complete. Only downside was fugly looking phone with small screen. Unfortunately, Lumia 800 was not available. Nokia really needs to come up with good designs for their phones. So far, IMO, Sony and Apple make the best looking phones.
Zeehunter
It looks pretty good for a 15k phone Many of the phones at that price range look right down fugly OS looks awesome .. My phone has become damn famous in the college
Death Stryke
Ya WP impresses everyone in the shop when they swipe and flick. Big Boss
It looks pretty good for a 15k phone Motorola Defy looks better than that. But still, at that price, not bad. The OS has great potential, but why they had to make it restrictive like iOS is beyond me. Are there people who are thrilled by restrictions? Oooh I cant transfer files via Bluetooth, how awesome!! Ooh waah I cant transfer videos without using some software FAP FAP FAP. Haah there is no mass storage *orgasm* SMH Start using it on a daily basis, especially U guys coming from android, then you'll find out..beh
Death Stryke
IOS does restrictive well. Very well. Ambar you could argue all day, but clearly apples success means there are millions of people who don't mind restrictive. Or rather don't care. i dont. I dont use my phone as a flash drive and BT is exclusive for my BT audio headsets. IOS does many other things very nicely which makes up a bit for the restrictive bit. No point denying it. Their continued success in iPhones and ipads proves that. Meanwhile WP tries to emulate Apple and makes a crappy restrictive OS. They should first realize they are not Apple, but Microsoft. WP7 is a half assed attempt. I think a real effort will come with WP8 only. At its current form its all bling and no meat.

Big Boss
I am not arguing about ios. It's wp 7 that's trying to be restrictive as Apple, without any substantial advantage so far. What I meant is people won't go for wp 7 just because it's restrictive, there are no people who enjoy it. Are there?
Death Stryke
Mostly, ex Nokia fanboys and MS fanboys (yes they exist) U know, I'll give you a simple example of how pathetic the experience is. When I buy a paid app on IOS, a popup appears, asking me to confirm by entering my password. That's it. Hit buy n boom its on your phone. I think its same in android? In WP, if I am browsing the marketplace and I want to buy an app, it takes me to one page confirming that it can access all these services. There again I hit buy, where I am taken out of the app into the phone browser. There they stupidly ask me to enter my full live ID and password in the web interface. Why are they asking me for ID is beyond me as I am already logged into it in the phone. Then another page appears with a teeensy tiny box where I have to zoom in and enter my verified by visa password. Why the f**k does it ask me for that when neither Google or Apple do? I purposely set the password very difficult to prevent scams which means I have to remember that esoteric password. And then the app is bought. The phone is with me only, dont need this step. Clearly apple and google know how to make it simple yet MS being MS does a half assed attempt. This is just one of the many annoyances with this OS

People buy i devices because they are awesome, for something good they compromise or like you said they don't mind but why the f**k MS is following their worst feature? Also, they are overpricing their devices too
