spindoctor
question - the 70$ physical disk option on the microsoft site. is it valid for worldwide shipping? also, if you use the 40$ upgrade option. can you do a fresh install of the os from scratch or will it necessarily be an upgrade? reason i ask is because i have 2 partitions with vista 64 and 7 64 (both legit). i want to get rid of the vista 64 install and do a fresh win 8 install in it's place. if i buy the upgrade from my 7 installation which i'm currently using, can i then download and burn an iso which will let me format the vista partition and install win 8 fresh? or will i need to buy it from the vista partition and upgrade that os? basically... the 40$ upgrade. does it give a standalone version of the os or is it only an upgrade? godspeed4476
I have noticed an increase in shutdown time. The screen goes dark pretty quick but the notebook is still running for noticeable period of time before the notebook shuts down compaltely. Yeah forgot to add that part, start up to the lock screenis a breeze now almost feels like a ssd statup. However, there is a still a very small wait time, when signing into the account, don't know if its coz signing in online or the whole startup process has been cleverly masked by MS

I think it achieves a faster boot by saving stuff to HDD or whatever for the next time it boots. So it probably takes a bit more time to shutdown. godspeed4476
Just fired up chrome from Metro UI and it seems it does not shares any cookies or user information about its desktop counterpart. This is a bummer, it means even for casual surfing on the net, i will have to use the desktop mode. EDIT: Scratch that. Just imported the bookmarks and everything. Things are better now. Is there any option where we can boot "normally"? coz the usual boot time is quite decent anyways for my notebook, but the wait for the notebook to shutdown completely is not goof for me. Zeehunter
^^ The start up process is masked my MS .. If you type fast and the start screen appears there is a delay in starting desktop It seems the start up takes place in the background when we are at the start screen

Death Stryke
I am not holding my breath for Indian pricing on this. Samsung prices their galaxy note 10.1 at 39k when it's a mid level tablet. I'd say surface comes in at 34-35k. Below 30k is impossible sadly. I'm somehow keen on the intel hybrids. A nice Lenovo Yoga 12" hybrid running win8 pro running tried and tested processors and got the full apps suite.. Not at all keen on arm and RT in its 1.0 avatar
