But otherwise I recommend getting a PS3 since you already said you don't like Halo and Gears much (which are some of the best games for the console). And you won't miss ME1/ME2 with a pc. Like Mass Effect, Gears of War, Alan Awake, etc. Specially if he doesn't have a gaming pc. That being said it seems like the Ps3 is a better choice for him considering the exclusives he prefers. One interesting fact he should take into consideration though. unlike the Ps3 the 360 can use a vga cable to give 720p-1080p on his monitor even if it doesnt have a dvi socket. Too much of F.R.I.E.N.D.S in office! I'm sorry, was getting bored. Ok. You have mentioned you do not have an HDTV. But then again at some point you may upgrade and by that time all the models will have FULL HD, no doubt. Hence keeping that in mind i can only advice you go in for PS3. Purely because of the term Blu Ray. The movie experience and the fact that you can skate on your game disks without getting a scratch on them, should be reason enough for you to look the other way. The exclusives are mind blowing and there are many more in the pipeline... I'm not a PS3 fanatic and i own both the consoles but since the time i have got a PS3 for myself i have hardly been able to game on my xbox. The enthusiasm is not quite there. Maybe its because i have all my IVG friends on PSN. Not sure. But having said that, xbox is a great piece of equipment (sans the hardware problems for which you are duly covered) and also, the exclusives are really good. Lower priced and if you are able to maintain your disks well then there wont be any problems. In advance and regardless of what you choose, welcome to our gaming community.
