Although i can connect ps3 with lan but my question will it support online . 4) i wont have problem if bandwith of 2mbps is distributed ni 7 machines sa mostly people play offline but i wanted online compatiblity always on each machine 5)Last question should i do this connect modem to router .also tell me in this how to configure router for wifi and after i connected my modem to router should i connect router to switch and assign manual ip address to 6 xbox and ps3 will this work perfectly fine . please give me ur suggestion as i will be expanding somewhere around 6000 on lan networking on this as switch and wifi router will come expensve so i will take all ivg member suggestion and then will invest cheers anshul
Bulovski
Hmmm - you can keep the wifi option but don't connect your consoles to the wifi - it just sucks in gaming. You could get a modem plus a nice big router which will support 8 ethernet and connect each system separately - that will ensure they are all connected on the same LAN as well as online. If your systems are not going to be online all the time why don't you get a better connection with usage cap? 8mbps. This should theoretically help with the line sharing. You will have to connect modem to a separate router - I don't know of an airtel modem which allows 8 ethernet ports. You will have to do some config on airtel's modem/router + your own router to open up the necessary ports to open NAT. You could just open up DMZ but that's always a security risk. mixke
now as airtel broadband has putup...FUP....on 2mbps plan I guess these changes are applicable for new users only. Old users continue with their old FUPs/plans, unless they update the plan.
