KnackChap
Studio can't say if new game is set for PlayStation - but doesn't deny it, eitherStudio can't say if new game is set for PlayStation - but doesn't deny it, either Bungie has refused to comment on whether its first post-Halo: Reach release is being developed for PS3 - but hasn't taken the opportunity to deny it, either. Since separating from Microsoft in 2007, the firm is free to develop on multiple platforms - and the rumour mill is rife that its new title will be available on Sony's console. However, when CVG put the question to Bungie community boss Brian Jarrard, he said the decision was "undefined right now". He told CVG: "I mean, I think our whole future's kind of undefined right now and it's definitely not something we're going to be comfortable getting into too much detail about. "We've had another team internally [other than those making Reach] for quite a while now - they've been working on the genesis of what will become our next big thing. "It's a little premature to get into specifics, but you know I think we have a really good mix of old blood and new blood in the studio." The second and final instalment of our interview with Bungie will be up on CVG later tonight http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=236359 Sony Family welcome's Bungie with open arms whenever they decide Jump In. <

HundredProofSam
IIRC when Bungie went independent, MS said that they will still have right of first refusal (is that what it's called?) when it comes to publishing whatever Bungie decides to do next. So if MS is publishing their next IP, PS3 version won't happen. Then again, if Bungie decides to go multi-platform, MS obviously won't publish. And Bungie will have no trouble landing a publisher. EA would be my guess. Also, there was a recent interview where they hinted that they probably will work on more Halo games. peace

playstation
they went solo after halo 3 afaik. i was just reading on wikipedia.. From wikipedia On October 5, 2007, Bungie announced that it had split with Microsoft and become a privately held independent company, Bungie LLC. Despite splitting from Microsoft, the studio will still be producing products for Xbox 360 but is free to develop for other companies and their platforms. The company is currently based in Kirkland, Washington. They were acquired by microsoft ..how and why did microsoft allow such a big studio to split?? . Nemo
They were acquired by microsoft ..how and why did microsoft allow such a big studio to split?? . most likely it was bungie's request to split. maybe they wanted to try out diff things apart from halo, which i would very much doubt MS would allow them to do. Nice gesture on MS as well to accept that.

It was either that or loose all the good people like it happened between EA and IW. At least this way they get the first rights on future games and can still call back Bungie when they f**k up Halo 4. Also lulz @ homaga's GIF. Aftrunner
I wonder if they really will go batshit insane enough and actually make an RTS like they were supposed to. Its kinda hard to see them not doing an FPS. :/
MarketTantrik
You can bet if Bungie ports Halo 2 / ODST to the PS3, there will be sky high praise for it from the very folk who keep trashing it.
