They figured it out alright. IT IS Y2Ked. Forum-folk saying Sony Engg might have missed the leap year calculation. Word is that they will come up with a fix like - dont switch on for 24hr to avoid data corruption, and then restart the PS3 after some sort of complete shut down to reset the internal clock.
