i cant check it right now.

I don't think it matters anymore. Based on your situation(and scattered evidence from other forums), the battery fix has been proven to work.

Sony just needs to release a datafix with logic to reseat the battery?

Its been said that manually setting date will not get fixed. A firmware update is needed.

Uh, wow. That PlayStation Network issue that struck late last night has officially ballooned into a full-on PlayStation disaster: Sony is now saying you shouldn't use "fat" PS3 models at all, since a clock-related bug might cause data loss. The PS3 slim isn't affected, however -- which explains some of the conflicting reports we heard last night. Sony says they're working to get this fixed in the next 24 hours, but for now it looks like older PS3 owners are out of luck -- we'll do our best to keep you entertained, guys.

Back Online, Playstation Network Error 8001050F Fixed

While there has been no official word from Sony PlayStation, the good news is the PlayStation Network (PSN) is back up. Logging into the PSN, there are no noticeable defects. You should be able to log-in right into the PSN like nothing ever happened. For those of us on the east coast, your gaming (assuming you went to work today) was delayed by only 2 hours.

PerezStart.com staff has logged into the PSN and everything seems to be OK on the 60GB and 40GB models. Fortunately, the PS3 Slim did not suffer from the outbreak…

We’ll be sure to let you know, what exactly was done to fix the issue. For now, log-in to the PSN and if you have received any follow up error messages, we want to know about them. Post your issues in the comments below. Xbox 360 gamers, please leave your fanboy comments at the door. No one wants to hear “Xbox Live never goes down”. For a service your paying for, I should hope not.

The PlayStaion Network is now online.

Latest Info From Playstation Blog

PlayStation Network Service Restored

Posted by Patrick Seybold // Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media

We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally.

If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. If we have new information, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Believe me guys, i had bad dreams abt my ps3 not starting up properly even after 24hrs hoopla.

But when i actually woke and switched on the ps3, i first checked the date and it showed me "29/4/2020". I was like LAG GAYI G&%$.

Then i just crossed my fingers n tried logging into psn, and WALLAH, i was in. I then synced my date wit internet and everything was back to normal.

Nice to have my baby back. :panic:
