PS3 error code Error: 8001050F

Any game with trophy support will not work. It doesn't matter if you're connected to the internet or not, because your PS3's internal clock is messed up.

Older games without trophy support like MGS4 or Valkyria Chronicles will work. You can't play any DLCs, though.

Another PS3 Trophy error appearing is “Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will now quit.”

:giggle::hug:

was not connected online still this error

The problem is NOT with PSN. Its an issue with the internal clock, so you will likely be affected whether you are offline or even if you haven't turned on your PS3.

Anyway hope Sony fixes this fast enough as its still possible to connect to the update server. But if the problem does not get auto-correct then those who cannot connect to the internet will be screwed.

It didn't affect me till like 4 hours ago. I was online till maybe 5 hours ago and my internet had some problem so I was kicked out of PSN. Everything was working fine until I restarted the PS3. :giggle:

Um.. what?

If the problem is something related to the PS3 and not PSN, how is it going to get fixed for those who do not have a PSN account due to the lack of an internet connection or whatever reason?

PS3 Failure, You Are Not Alone

A large number of console hardware devices failing all at once. This sounds familiar.

On December 31, 2008 at around midnight PST, Microsoft's first generation Zune 30GB portable device began to go kaput en masse. "Upon when turning on, the thing loads up and... freezes with a full loading bar," a tipster told sister site Gizmodo.

By evening later that same day, Microsoft had an official fix for the Zune issue: "By tomorrow you should allow the battery to fully run out of power before the unit can restart successfully then simply ensure that your device is recharged, then turn it back on". The problem was caused by an internal clock error, namely the way it handles a leap year.

Likewise, Sony is having issues with its first generation PlayStation 3 hardware. It was originally believed to be an issue with Sony's PlayStation Network, but now some are theorizing that this snafu is related to the console's internal hardware.

As previously mentioned, Microsoft was able to pinpoint the problem and offer a solution, and hopefully Sony will be able to as well.
