spindoctor Posted April 17, 2011 Report Share Posted April 17, 2011 Can't find the Portal thread. I'm afraid I've found a wicked glitch in my playthrough. I think I'm at the end so just help me out.. When you pass the rocket AI and have to use his rocket to break the glass conveyer belt tube which is carrying the cubes to get one to climb up a vent, I did that and the first cube drops and disappears. After a couple of seconds the screen fills with hundreds (okay, I exaggerate) of flying cubes and the game comes to a crawl. It just becomes unplayable. I've restarted, switched off my PS3 and switched it on but the same crap again. What can I do? Is this the Valve curse for playing Portal so late? luckily i played through portal a few days ago so i can help you out. the idea behind smashing that glass tube is to get a cube down. there is a vent in the same room as the glass tube which you are supposed to get into but you can't jump into it as it is about waist high. you are supposed to get a cube, put it next to the vent, jump on the cube and then into the vent to move forward. now if you're having issues with getting a cube down, you should know this... you don't necessarily need the cube to jump onto to move further. any solid object will do. if you go back to the room with the rocket launcher, you will see that there is an office chair there. just pick that up and take it all the way to the vent, jump on it and then into the vent. saves the trouble of having to shoot down the glass tube and will avoid whatever other issues you're having with the game. also, you're playing the game on the ps3? you sure do have a penchant for choosing the wrong device for the job don't you? GLaDOS was so funny in the end I kinda felt sad in the end, especially when the ending song started.. I'm not even angry. I'm being so sincere right now. Even though you broke my heart. And killed me. And tore me to pieces. And threw every piece into a fire. As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you! Now these points of data make a beautiful line. And we're out of beta. We're releasing on time. So I'm GLaD. I got burned. Think of all the things we learned for the people who are still alive. Go ahead and leave me. I think I prefer to stay inside.
