agree with perfect dark and dmc2. fun fact, dmc 2 was my first dmc, rather first ps2 game. back then i loved it, cud not digest the horrible reviews it got everywhere (was interwebz n00b then) later played DMC and instantly realized dmc2's fail and missed opportunity.

But mgs 2 ? really ? why ?? they still hung up over raiden ? goddamnit, its a perfectly fine title. Till date i feel it has the best opening sequence of all time. OF ALL TIME !!

disappointment doesn't necessarily mean its a bad game. Even fable is listed there, I wouldn't call fable a bad game. But compared to what molyneux promised before and the end product, it was kind of disappointing. Same might be the case with MGS 2.

Doom 3 is totally worth its place. Most hyped up stuff, with all the ultra high textures and sh*t, end product was a snoozefest with predictable jump scares and morons for enemies who came in line to get shot one after the other

Yeah I thought MGS 2 was pretty good. And I am not even a MGS fan.

Well maybe thats why I thought MGS2 was good, I didnt care if you didnt get to play as snake and I just skipped all the whining conversations with that "do you know what day it is" wh*re. Plus the challenge rooms (or whatever they are called) were amazingly good. Something MGS3 never got.

I also loved Fable 1 to bits. I think I liked it more than Fable 2. :scratchchin:

yeah me too. it was my first MGS. just got it w/o knowing anything and cause it had stealth written under its name. Played it loved it and then came to know that raiden was hated all around the interwebz.

I loved Doom 3.

Its very good, but it gets very repetitive somewhere in the middle. And they really dont go into the story until before u go to hell and fetch the soul cube. The end boss was lame and too easy :fear: . Doom3 ROE was nice too :P .

I don't necessarily think that playing as Raiden really screwed the series up. But then again I think everyone got it with the hopes of having the same experience as MGS which is not what HK had in mind. It laid the groundwork for adding more characters and creating nicer plot twists.

@Snake: If you take off the fanboy hat for a moment, MGS2 was a pretty screwed up experience. I know that it wasn't what I was expecting, and not in a good way.

So if it didnt work out for u and it did for me, It means im a fanboy??

For the the WTF'ness of playing raiden, the whole convoluted storyline made me love the game even more....

Its fanboyish to say that MGS2 surpassed all expectations. Its not a bad game. Its disappointment stems from the numerous WTF zingers it hurls out. The gameplay and mechanics were intact... well, except for

the whole f**king naked Raiden experience

I used the fanboy comment becoz of your well documented love of the series.

BTW: Being a game fanboy is perfectly alright, encouraged even.
