stick Posted February 8, 2008 Report Share Posted February 8, 2008 another thing you can try to ease the pain from disc read errors....i have noticed that the disc tray itself can get quite dirty....i was getting fifa disc read errors but my dvd was perfectly ok with no scratches...i just wiped the disc tray clean and voila...no more disc read errors....and it started making less noise as well....dirty fluke you say....maybe....but its worth a shot... gpt Posted April 21, 2008 Report Share Posted April 21, 2008 ok .. so i am having a doubt whether my 360 is scratching my disc thing is i cant confirm coz i got only 1 game thts pgr3 ........ i looked at the underside and there were circular scratches i dont use my 360 much .. just once in a while for 1hr or so. i'm waiting for another game [doa4] ... so if i see any signs of scratches thn i will contact ms. also I won my 360 in a contest ... so i was wondering whether it would be under 3yr rrod warranty . also is there any special policy for discs scratched by 360 .... i read tht some guys got their games replaced and all.. what do u guys think? You can get it replaced by MS since your first year of warranty (which includes any kind of problem) isnt over. Just call them up and tell them that its scratching your discs, they'll replace it. Now there was this game called Mass Efffect or something ..it made my 360 cough blood.... Anyways the disc got scratched pretty bad and got stuck after a scenario... So all pissed i called up the support This is what they had to say 1. We do not replace a disc with circular scratches cos its caused by users mistake. Moving the console while the disc is being played is the only known reason to scratch a disk, which eventually is our mistake and not theirs.... Wait before you start using all the choicest of expletives I tried to reason on this stupid logic but there was an energy shield of STUPIDITY that i just couldnt breach. So i told them, the disc wont play, it doesnot have circular scratches(though it had sh*t loads).... And please change my 360 as well.... As usual a moron came who had no clue what to take what to give......got my new sealed copy of mass effect and spanking new console.. Its your call.
