Karooo
WHY THE KZ2 CLAN SYSTEM IS STILL THE BEST ON CONSOLES Blowing up objectives and calling in airstrikes is what I've been doing lately. It's fun, but the real excitement comes during clan match time. I look on Gamebattles and see that a match will start in about 30 minutes. I go on, get into a private match by invite. I wait for everyone on our team and the opposing team to get here. When everyone's here, rules are read out loud and adjusted. The game is about to start, but someone drops out. Everyone groans and waits for the missing player. Finally the game starts, but something's wrong. Host has dropped out. We all leave to restart this process. That paragraph is sadly how clan matches on consoles are happening this very day. Tedious, kills the fun, and makes you think twice before you set another clan match up. "I'll set this an hour before so we can set up fine;" is usually the thought that comes into my head when I go onto GameBattles.com. But a year ago, a game was released with possibly the best clan support a console game can offer. Clan's were invite only, so no one can be juvenile and pretend to be in your clan for the lulz. Your clan had a main page where the leader and his officers could write messages to the whole team. You can find matches/tournaments with just two buttons. Don't like the time's/maps? Set up your own! Also, every clan had a valor betting system. You start off with 100 valor (correct me if I'm wrong) and every clan game you would bet a certain amount. If you won, you win twice of what you bet. If you lose, you lose that amount. Some tourneys offered valor to the top 3 teams and had no/some valor requirement All of that I just described is done in-game! No leaving the couch to find info or to send messages because it was much easier in the Clan homepage. Now, while you can do this all in-game, KZ2 had some other awesome features to help out clans. A battle replay was created for over-seeing your/friend's performances after a game. Fix your mistakes, find new strategies, and find better choke points by just watching the same game you played in from a tactical view. This added a sense of tactics for the whole game. I've already listed a huge number of ways of how KZ2 has the best clan system, and I didn't even get up to a game yet! Once the match was set with all the rules beforehand, all the players joined a private game. Once inside, classes are chosen and teams are made based on which clan you belong to. Set the mute to the entire team and just chat it out with your friends. The game starts when it's supposed to, so if you're not there, you can't go inside the clan match. Once inside, the match takes place and when it is over, the KZ2 clan system gives the winning team the valor it deserves along with a change in your record. Players can say "good game", "rematch" and whatnot. Just in this short amount of words, I've described to you perhaps the best clan support found on consoles to date. But why is this important? Well, currently I'm playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and I'm a pretty competitive guy. I love clan matches because everyone plays a little better. But I've played in two clan games so far, and both have took more than 2 hours for just 3-5 games. People dropping in and out, players not making the deadline and the rules being unfair (this is mostly in MW2) has really killed the competitive sense in me in BF:BC2. MW2 is a whole other story. If one rule isn't set accordingly at the time of the game, then a huge dispute starts and only gets everyone frustrated. Perhaps IW and Dice don't understand how important clans are. Well, I could understand IW but Dice? These guys have been pushing the clan system to the top with every PC release and to see this horrible private match/ tag system upsets me. What happened Dice? Regardless, KZ2 will possibly go down this gen with the best clan system support. What Sony can do however, is mandate this system in all of their exclusive multiplayer games. Maybe Socom 4 can up the ante? http://meodia.com/article/138/why-the-kz2-...st-on-consoles/

I would credit my activeness on ivg purely on the kz2 clan. BGC, DKK and now IVG. At lest in the initial months. sorry if it looks emo but the clans helped a lot in building the camaraderie among the ps3 gamers here, well that and a lot of masala. kz2 clan hope socom has it too

Shantz
@ Topic- No Its NOT! I agree with you. BECAUSE MOST OTHER GAMES DON'T HAVE AN EFFIN CLAN SYSTEM..What they have is a tacked on way to change your name tag and say that you are in a clan, but that is it... Noctis
Its the reason people here in IVG plays this game a lot, personally warzone games got boring after a few weeks but clan matches are extremely fun even after a year. The level of tactics and teamwork you see in it never works in random games with firangis. But is there anything to compare here? Because AFAIK no other online shooter on the consoles even have a proper clan system, be it CoD, Halo, Gears or anything. (other than adding the clan tag near your name)

The JACKAL
kz2 has the best clan system no doubt about that and its very convienient . But i think in a way halo3 fares better,u can form a group and then the entire group can join another group or ranked match etc. And the replay for every game gets saved and u can view it in soo many ways. U can choose a segment of the replay or the entire replay and u can upload it or put it on file share or u can msg it to all your friends. The kz2 replay on the browser is pretty sweet ,but i still prefer watching the game replay itself and in the perspective of the other players.
