Ininity Ward jump ship to EA??

Recommended Posts

A couple of reports are indicating that Infinity Ward (Call of Duty creators) were already in talks with Electronic Arts PRIOR to the dismissal of the studio heads. Obviously with what has gone on recently, speculation is mounting that the move could happen. What do you think about it, would Infinity Ward be better hosted at EA rather than Activision?

So they left EA to avoid making pointless non stop sequels, joined Activision and made pointless non stop sequels and now are going back to EA because they want to avoid making pointless non stop sequels.

/Head hurts.

It does seem to follow an eerie pattern. EA (post IW) proceeded to spam the sh*t out of the WW2 genre, they made the WW2 shooter so ubiquitous that people became sick of the whole thing. Acti (again post IW) are going down the same path and are making the modern warfare (pun not intended) scene so over saturated that every new war game is starting to become a little too samey.

The more things change......

Why cant they include a clause in the Agreement which allows freedom of time and perspective from EA?

Look at Remedy, they've been developing Alan Wake even before Internet Porn, and MS just stood there and encouraged them, albeit with the restriction of Xbox exclusive. Why cant EA do that?

They destroyed Need for Speed series and MoH series hope they dont push COD to that same hangman's noose.
