silentassassin Posted March 7, 2010 Report Share Posted March 7, 2010 A couple of reports are indicating that Infinity Ward (Call of Duty creators) were already in talks with Electronic Arts PRIOR to the dismissal of the studio heads. Obviously with what has gone on recently, speculation is mounting that the move could happen. EA (post IW) proceeded to spam the sh*t out of the WW2 genre, they made the WW2 shooter so ubiquitous that people became sick of the whole thing. Acti (again post IW) are going down the same path and are making the modern warfare (pun not intended) scene so over saturated that every new war game is starting to become a little too samey. Look at Remedy, they've been developing Alan Wake even before Internet Porn, and MS just stood there and encouraged them, albeit with the restriction of Xbox exclusive. Why cant EA do that?
