Criterion: No plans for Black 2, we're focused on NFS

Recommended Posts

black--article_imageCriterion Games' Black originally released in 2007 for the PS2 garnered a lot of rave reviews. While such positive reception would have warranted an immediate Part 2, the devs are being prudent about it, much to the disappointment of the title's fans.

"The team is always flattered by the vast number of requests for a sequel to Black, ever since it launched," an EA spokesperson admitted to the Official PlayStation Magazine. "However, there are no plans for the foreseeable future for a sequel to Black. The team is very focused on Need for Speed."

While the NFS franchise has definitely been a tried and tested success, it surely wouldn't hurt to try out a new one, right? Hopefully they're not so set on this no-Black-sequel thing. But for now, that should kill the rumor about a sequel now in the works at Criterion's studios.

Black 2 n Burnout has more fan base..i'm pretty sure they'll sell more than NFS..

Y da fk r these guys r working on it instead of making burnout or black..

All they end up doing is mixing both NFS n Burnout n turn the game into total sh*t...

That's not true. NFS games still sell incredibly well, more than I can say for Black (which had only one game) and Burnout (three iterations published by EA, I think).

May be NFS has a better fan base than Black..

But i still believe Burnout has more fans now...NFS lost its way after carbon....

Lol. Do you have any idea how NFS games sell? Even crappy ones like Undercover sell like hot cup cakes.

Yes more than Burnout cos unlike Burnout (except for Paradise) all NFS games have been available for PC and the older (better) ones can still run on mediocre rigs, something most Indians have. People on this forum with souped up rigs are a minority.
