New to MP shooters.. need tips

I don't play MP shooters much, and when I do, I get my a*s handed to me. But sucking at a game doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.

The reason I still enjoy it is I play with friends who are in it for fun, and nothing else. They don't mind having to revive my a*s every 10 seconds . You can get discouraged when people start whining and crying over every little thing, which I remember happening in KZ2 matches way back. That sucks the fun out of it.

The best thing I can say is find people who are playing it for the same reasons that you are. That way, whether you're good or bad, you'll have fun.

On a related note, finally played my first BFBC2 MP session on PC last night. DTR 4 LIFE! :fear:

Well, I never played MP for a long time..started only when i bought a PS3..started with Killzone 2(that too very late, almost 3-4 months after the release)....got PWND left right and centre!!!

But i never gave up...started noticing how people play especially the badass players from the IVG squad, it took me a few days but then i started Laying the smackdown on their candy asses!!!!

Take ur time, enjoy the game....u'll get better!!!

. And when your teammates get shot, shoot the guy who shot them :P

jiggy why you never played kz2  we would have loved playing with you :fear:

there is one simple way of improving in mp..practice...practice and more practice...

will soon be starting with my bfbc2 mp also ,hope that time also you play like this only :) so i can get some free kills

IMO

First- Make your accuracy better, learn to use differnt weapons in their different forms for example in MW2 you cant use ACR like Tar or Tar like ACR

learn the basics of the weapon you use the most!

Second-Study the map and

you should know where most players will be in

Third- As it is BFBC2,you cant do any sh*t without the help your team mates so move along with your teammates

Fourth-

DO NOT RUSH

! you can rush after being good in accuracy

Fifth(not necessary)-if you not good at sniping dont try it,try it only after being good at other assault rifles!

jiggi if u r having trouble with the aiming n controls on the whole... play the SP first... u will get used to aiming n the movement n the whole shibang... after that venture into MP

MP stick with ur squadmates get a feel for the map as u play more often... in bf:bc2 SPOT the opposition by aiming n pressing select before u start firing... that way if u die @ least ur team knows whr to find the $%#$ who killed ya :D

BFBC2 is my first MP and first FPS too...so you can consider me as an utter noob at these. Here are some things which I've done at start..don't go into the battle directly. Use stationary weapons as most of the times they have some shielding and unlimited clip amount and huge accuracy so you get some hang of the game and you can also watch how other players are playing. If you're in attacking team, again don't go in to the battle directly use tanks coz again, you'll get some protection with the usage of tanks.

If you want to enter the battle directly, I recommend you using the medic class for first few games as the LMGs have huge clip and generally, a better accuracy and you can heal yourself.

Hmmmm...can give you some BC2 specific tips.

Like the game allows you to spawn on your team-mates. Normally, you should be able to see what the team-mate is actually doing before you spawn upon him. It is always better to make sure that the guy is not engaged in some fire-fight just when you are about to spawn upon him. In such a case, it is better to spawn at your own base. Agreed, you will have to walk/drive quite a distance but at least you will be safer that way instead of getting insta-killed.

Another way to be really helpful to your team is by spotting. Racking up the kills alone won't matter. If you can use the 'BACK' button your PS3 controller to effective use by pointing at any of the nemey that you spotted and pressing the BACK button, you will tag him for your team-mates to see. Similarly, explore your inventory, no matter which class you are playing in. If you are an engineer, help the team by darting the enemy armored vehicles so that the others can use it to home in their missiles. If a sniper, call in mortar strike upon the enemy bases. Medics and Assault can similalry be helpful by handing out med-kits and ammo-boxes around. Medics can also revive team-mates, thus savng precious spawn-tickets which could make or break the game.

Above all, keep moving. Never, ever stay in one place. Stay still and your dog-tag will be adorning someone's post-match medal list.

KDR barely counts when playing as a team.

In BF BC2, the most important thing is when you see an enemy, spot first, shoot later. Also, stick with teammates.. but don't stay so close such that a machine gunner or a well positioned assault player can kill the whole squad in one round etc.

Guys... :roflroll:

popped in my KZ2 disc and it has probably just what i need... bot-based mp. Almost as tough as playing against human opponents.

Played it for about 30 minutes... got some kills. Need to probably play this for a week or so to really "haath-saaf-karofy" on mp. I guess my problem is reaction time. Its like i see an enemy and even before i can aim the crosshair at the bugger, he's shot me thrice  old age??

Don't play with the bots except to know the maps. There are huge a*s games going for noobs all the time - get on them. They are very good for learning KZ2 mp - that's how I did it. I still suck but at least I enjoy the games :(

i hope u meant "finding games with folks just as bad as me in mp". KZ2 lets me find players with a similar sucky-rank and join them. Wayyyyy better than BC2 which somehow misses this important factor.

Am soooo soooo glad to have KZ2 :scratchchin:

yes jiggy, kz2 is teh epick !!

also, one very imp thing, dont use scope in kz2, ie dont use the green dot to fire (pressing l1 then r1) like u do in bfbc2. Use normal firing and crouch while firing when ever you get a chance.
