Bhpian Bali
i am providing u guys with an orkut link.. the owner of the ps3 community has explained how to share dial up internet with ur ps3 in detail.. useful for people new to all this.. i hope this post isnt against ivg rules... just wanted to help http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#CommMsgs?cmm=2...836440984069484 oh i figured tht i can even copy and paste the same thing.. but it is better to keep the link as people can direct questions to the owner directly just in case. SHARING INTERNET FROM PC TO PS3(WITHOUT ROUTER) 1> Connect the PS3 to the PC using an Ethernet cable. 2> Go to the internet connection(EVDO or USB modem, they creates a dialup icon) over the PC and right click over the connection and select "Properties" then select "Sharing" and check the radio box corresponding to "Allow other network user's to connect through this computer's internet connection". Below there you see a "ICS(Internet Connection Sharing)" click over there and select all the services. If you are using Windows XP then run a “Network Setup Wizard” and select “This computer connects directly to the internet and other computer connects to share internet”. 3> Right click on the PS3's LAN connection in your PC and go to "Properties". Then select the "Internet Protocol Version 4 TCP/IP" then click over "Properties" and change it to "Obtain IP address automatically". 4> Now on the PS3 Network Setting manually enter these values, IP as 198.168.0.8 , Subnet Mask as 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway as 192.168.0.1, Primary DNS as 192.168.0.1, MTU AUTO, DO NOT USE PROXY , UPNP disabled. Then reboot both the PC and PS3. Then test the internet connection. IF THE ABOVE SETTING DOESN’T WORK THEN CHANGE THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY DNS TO “OPEN DNS” OR “GOOGLE DNS” OPEN DNS Primary DNS:- 208.67.222.222 Secondary DNS:- 208.67.220.220 IF YOU HAVE A WIRELESS ROUTER AND WANT TO SHARE THE INTERNET WIRELESSLY THEN SIMPLY CONNECT THE LAN CABLE TO THE ROUTERS “INTERNET” SOCKET AND THE SETTINGS WILL BE SAME AS YOU DID IN PS3. IF IT DOESNT WORK THEN TRY CHANGING THE PS3'S LAN CONNECTION SETTING AT PC FROM "OBTAIN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY" TO IP 198.168.0.1 AND SUBNET MASK AS 255.255.255.0, DONT SET ANYTHING ELSE.
