Bulovski Posted March 23, 2010 Report Share Posted March 23, 2010 Hey guys, First of all thanks for the great support that we've seen from some of you - either openly or through PMs - in our new venture. While there are many who would love to hold us back I like to be positive and optimistic about our future. The members here have worked too hard on this forum to build up a great community. I am sure that we can maintain this camaraderie and welcome more people to our great site once we grow bigger and gain more exposure. For those who are hearing of the news for the first time or would like a summary of the events from yesterday - IVG has been approached by an American site who are looking at us to become a premier gaming site in the region. In the past, there have been offers which came with too many strings attached or were ambiguous. However, this is indeed a great offer which will give us the opportunity to build a great gaming website, promote gaming in the country, and take off whatever we've built so hard in the last few years. We cannot disclose all the terms because that's a breach - but these terms are fabulous for IVG. There are some among the staff who oppose this and some who are in favour. Whatever happens we have to take an united stand and these discussions are hopefully undertaken with an open mind to the future. The reason of this thread - definitely not to start off from yesterday. We heard some concerns yesterday that the community would be destroyed if Americans take over and that TP is a major draw for IVG. I would like to hear more - what can we do to ensure that all you users remain in the site? We go into a meeting with the buyers in about three weeks from now. Before that let us have a list of the most pressing issues and I promise to bring these up in the meeting. The last thing we want is that you guys leave IVG - a place which one of our esteemed senior members called paradise (I agree). Obviously there will be some changes - TP cannot stay in the current form. It's too unstructured. Same with the Library. In fact you members have complained enough times about both. While Aman did quit yesterday as a mod he's done a fantastic job maintaining these two sections and I hope to see him take on a larger role in the new setup. It's definitely time for a change there. We will probably crack down hard on any talks of piracy and modding. However, we will be putting a proper clan system in place and organize more tournaments and giveaways. It's good to hear when you guys jump up and down in Shout saying that you won Bioshock CE or a PS3. So go on folks - let us hear your ideas that we can address with our buyers. Let's face it - saying "NO" by getting all emo and saying "indie is great" is immature and not at all forward looking. We are here to improve IVG. Thanks again for your continued support. Noctis - not yet, but it's best to be ready with all points for discussions. It's hard to discuss anything after signing. TP - I want to hear more. Like I said, TP today is a mess. People spamming away to gain access, people not honouring trades, too much of a hassle. Come on guys - more. We need your help. Positive thinking will sway the likes of Sam and KC. Coming to actual suggestions, let TP be there. Along with genchat threads like snake's babe thread, and dont take a hard stand against threads that mock people like sahil siddiqui when they do something silly. At the same time, let decisions be taken in conjuction with u, not just by some american admin. Let them not be 'more equal' among equals Leave shout as it is. Let genchat be left as it is. Thats classic. Why would we want to sway the guys who actually have their feet on ground and not their hands in the wallet. This is hardly what I call a mess. It could be more organized, but what exactly do you propose? I have a few questions on this issue- - What power will the new administration have over IVG? Can they change the current staff at will or even shut down the site if they think its not profitable anymore? - What changes will happen to Gen chatter, TP, PSN sharing teams, game library, member sponsored contests, individual clan threads and community hosted tournaments? (whether there be official ones too or not) A clear answer for these please. I only saw the other thread after it was locked, and Im still not able to decide because no one has given a clear idea about the changes that could happen.
