MarketTantrik
lik i said b4 yesterday make thread wherein u hav ALL the plus n minuses of the deal . dis will help many members to think it through I think it was pretty evident from yesterday's thread. Changes (at least those we can discuss) - TP will cease to exist in its current form after 6 months - a few of the GenChat threads will be deleted like the Babes thread. - some of the staff positions will change. There will be additional staff recruited, a few of which will hopefully be from the member base itself. All staff will become employees of the new owner depending on their choice. - the blog will disappear after 6 months. There will be an active front page that will replace it with prominent links everywhere to the forums. - the color scheme and page design of the site will change after 6 months - The staff will be subject to a 2 year performance clause to ensure the growth of IVG. We will only get a fraction of the total amount payable upfront. The rest will only be paid in installments if we achieve performance targets - a cash reserve will be created from Day 1 to fund the expansion of IVG and finance the new initiatives and improvements - The "IVG" name will remain for at least 6 months. Based on market research that the buyers will be conducting, the name could remain or may be changed. But there will definitely be a reference to "India" in the name. Over the course of 2-3 years, the name may change again to reflect a more Asian influence. - A reputation system will be introduced and members who contribute the most to the community (as voted by the members through the rep system) will be rewarded - There will be more tournaments, more contests, more giveaways - IVG will have direct access to publishers internationally. We will not have to deal exclusively with the local distributors. This means quick access to new games, access to betas, previews, etc. - Invitations to global gaming events like E3, TGS, MLG, etc. - PSN sharing threads will have to go, since its iffy. What will remain the same - 99.9% of the threads will be untouched. - Members' post counts and titles will not change - We will continue to celebrate all our Indian holidays and we wont be forced to celebrate American holidays
Cash
For that the person posting must have a neutral stance to the issue and willing to hear out all sides. If the OP is already decided then mostly anything he lists out will favor his decision. And AFAIK, all staff or on one side or the another for someone to do that. i think KC,MILO,Sam are aginst Bul,Reap,MT in favour
Anmolsc
omg now after all this offer and all..TP and everything seems like a mess to u..before tht it was fine ?? after the new IVG well do this..well do that..this will be improved tht will be improved..as if ur gonna have control over this site..this wont be ur site and u wont be admins..u will be working for them and will be doin what they say.. u will no longer be the owners of this site..and even if it turns out to be good which it wont..after 5 years no1 would even remember u..and forget even getting credit about this.... and trust me this wont be IVG anymore... it will be more like IGN..indian gamers network or someshit..like IGN.in anyways its ur decision ..and uve very well made it..so go ahead..good luck with the deal ..what is done is done...and im not pointing fingers or anything..just how i feel..i dont think any of u remembers this as its aver old incident..once even i had made a site and it coul have done amazing things but i shut it down as the mods in this site didnt want to help plus then i thought community would be a better way and as it was doing good i didnt want competition but just one unified indian community and thus i shut down my site.but nw u guys are only hamepring the indian community idea then no1 can help u...i hope u realize wht ur doing and have thought over this deeply
Death Stryke
My suggestion would be to atleast ensure that GC doesn't go. Especially the ones related to technology n sports. Oh n yea music. I dont see why anyone would have an issue with that.

вι¢ннσσвαвα
Looking at the tp feedbacks, we have this- Positive - 5862 Negative - 38 Even among the negative ones some are due to misunderstandings and some for backing out from pre-orders. This is hardly what I call a mess. It could be more organized, but what exactly do you propose? I have a few questions on this issue- - What power will the new administration have over IVG? Can they change the current staff at will or even shut down the site if they think its not profitable anymore? - What changes will happen to Gen chatter, TP, PSN sharing teams, game library, member sponsored contests, individual clan threads and community hosted tournaments? (whether there be official ones too or not) A clear answer for these please. I only saw the other thread after it was locked, and Im still not able to decide because no one has given a clear idea about the changes that could happen. +100 it would be easier to decide if we knew what would go and what would stay once the site is bought rather than going in circles and end up where we started. Noctis
STFU Dude. Enough with the bile. Lemme see you tackle my previous post above. Basically you have still left all the questions unanswered except that PSN sharing threads will go. WHAT will happen to TP after 6 months? It works great as it is and they way its put, it most likely will be removed. And my first question - What power will the new administration have over IVG? But please try your best NOT to have a rep system. That just craps things up, plus this is a gaming forum and not a tech forum. Didn't you have the Karma system sometime back and there was a Karma fiasco? Please dont have reps. Also MT can you verify that the basic structure of the forum will remain the same, I mean IPB or PHPbb or something similar? I just cannot handle one forum per game like on IGN or Gamespot. Death Stryke
Yeah, I feel if the TP thing works out, a lot of members might be okay with what MT posted right now. Or at least some good alternative to the current TP. I agree to what people say, the TP gives us more incentive to stick around as it helps us to buy n play more games considering the Indian scenario and cost of games compared to incomes/salaries. If some workaround can be adjusted to TP it'd be great.

in-fi-ni-ty
acc. to MT's post its clear to me that new site will be more FORMAL and we will hav much less freedom than before . its like imposing unwanted restrictions rite now we r kg students goin to a school but after we will be BOARDING SCHOOL students

Can they change the current staff at will or even shut down the site if they think its not profitable anymore? Rather than trying to absorb what I have posted, you are simply trying to wring out some more negatives. Very mature of you What happens to the TP after 6 months? I cannot say for now. Its current form will disappear. I can understand if this leaves some of your questions unanswered, but it answers the primary query. No point beating the drum about its future repeatedly. The new owners will be the employers of the IVG staff. They can hire and fire people but our 2 year performance clause has several layers of bilateral protection built into it to ensure that no decision is arbitrary. Most of the changes look very good. But please try your best NOT to have a rep system. That just craps things up, plus this is a gaming forum and not a tech forum. Also MT can you verify that the basic structure of the forum will remain the same, I mean IPB or PHPbb or something similar? I just cannot handle one forum per game like on IGN or Gamespot? The Rep system they have devised is very cool. Wait till you see the possibilities. The forum structure will remain the same. They really liked the design a lot, so kudos to Sam for that. hammerhead
And if they close down the site after a little while because its not profitable? That will be wrong. I am not saying I dont like IVG in its current state. IVG is awesome the way it is, but if there has to be a change I would want a positive change. I have simply pointed out things I would not like (thus staying on the topic).
MarketTantrik
Oh I forgot, they do not concerned about the site's profitability for now. This venture is part of their global expansion plans and will tie in to their other business plans. IVG is not meant to generate profits, its meant to create a community of gamers in India as a fast growing and focused consumer base.
