Xbox 360 Slim Gets Spotted; Coming to E3 in June? [New Microsoft Xbox 360 Slim Appears in Leaked Pictures; PlayStation 3 Slim Doesn’t Want to Hear About It]

You can’t say we didn’t tell you that Microsoft is going to launch a brand new Xbox 360 console later this year. And no, it’s not the next-gen gaming console you’d expect Redmond to make. In fact we’re apparently looking at the Xbox 360 Slim, a machine that will want to fight against Sony’s PlayStation 3 Slim.

The new Xbox 360 Slim will probably put to good use that new motherboard we’ve seen a couple of weeks ago and even if this is not real thing in the pics here we do know the company is looking into a new Xbox design. Steve Ballmer said so a while ago without actually revealing any details about the new size, shape, arriving date or pricing details.

We also happen to know that Project Natal, Microsoft’s own take at motion control gaming, is coming this June at the E3 event in Los Angeles so we will assume that Redmond will unveil its new Xbox 360 Slim, or whatever they’re going to call it, at the same event.

Before you start asking us about it I’ll tell you right away you won’t require an Xbox 360 Slim to play Project Natal titles. All current Xbox 360 models should do just fine so you won’t have to spend more than what you can afford in order to play motion controlled games.

On the other hand, if you got the extra cash for a brand new Xbox 360 Slim, then you will probably get one just so you can show it to your friend these holidays.

Naturally we don’t have any pricing details for the new model but we don’t expect it to be more expensive than any of the current models although you will probably pay extra for it since you’re going to be bundling it with the Project Natal peripheral.

What do you say, Xbox lovers? Do you need a new Xbox console model in your life?

LOL.. funny how the pics don't show the front view.

And yeah that IS the HD-DVD add-on.

Apparantely, MS had zodak as a design consultant for their HD-DVD add on. He has even added a GPU onto it AND made it safe from RRoD as well :ranting:

Both CPU nd GPU on single 45nm dye...away from Disc drive..so no over-heating....
