My rig's an E6750 running slightly overvolted and overclocked at 3.2ghz with an 8800GTX and 4gb of RAM with 2 SATA HDDs. On pretty much 24x7.

I don't know how much exactly it consumes, but it works fine with a CM Extreme Power 500W. I wanted a CM600w but they didn't have 600W CMs where I was shopping so I had to settle with this. This was more than 2 years ago. I guess this info should help you make a decision.

Hmm.. Isn't 8800 GT = 9800 GT = GT250..?? :threatenlumber::rulez:

Thanks.. :P .. Will hunt for this mobo tomorrow when i head over to the market.. But Corsair's PSU not available.. :( .. I checked close to all the shops which had PSUs and all had either FSP or Zebronics..!!..

Heck, one even tried to dupe me by saying " Get Intel i3.. It's better than i5 as i5 mobo has no onboard graphics.." :P .. I was like WTF!!.. I need a PCIE graphics card.. I dont care abt on-board ones.. to which he replied " But Intel wala is best, better than ATI or NVIDIA.." ..!!.. :threatenlumber:

P.S. : Can i unlock the X2 555BE cores using Asus M4A78EM..??

Reason for editing: f**king Netbook KBs..!! :giggle:

:( .. :fear:

i think yes,check weather mobo is sb710/750

Yeah.. AFAIK, it's sb710 .. :unsure:

I'm a little unclear on that. Still I'd say go for a 600W rated PSU if you can.

Hmm.. 600W is out of budget bro.. What abt FSP Saga II 500W.. ?? .. Anybody heard about it..??

Hmm..

So summing up, let's see.. :

AMD Phenom X2 55BE + Asus M4A78EM : 10300

2GB DDR3 RAM : 3000

500GB WD : 2400

Corsair 450W : 4000

ATI 5750 : 9000 :unsure::fear:

Cabinet : 1500

do u think all the 600w can handle 600w at realtime, most of them cant even handle 250 w

I know it won't handle exacty 600W. That's why I told him how even my 500W PSU is able to handle a GPU with a heavy power draw. SO obviously a 600W from the same company shouldn't crap up when the 500W can handle the same load.

I am not too knowledgeable about PSU brands though.

But that's kinda the best card you can get in the budget. :fear: Or just wait a while and go for a system a month or two later.

True bro.. But my rig is so FAIL that even Rakhi Sawant would reject it..!! :unsure:

Problem is if i don't upgrade it now, the whole thing will get delayed by at least a year.. :O ..

Don't go for 5750 or 57X. Buy a GTX or even 4570 would do. These cards can play most games. Also, you are building a gaming PC, I'd suggest you to go for GTX and stay with it, you can always buy a new graphics card later. GTX can hold until next year and I know you'll have moonies by next year

^^but seriously dude, think about it. Ok, I know I am opposing everyone here but processor and motherboard aren't the thing which you can change time to time. But, you can easily replace graphics card and RAM so try to spend more money on processor. I suggest you to go for i5 and a good mobo (dunno much abt mobos). Buy a cheap graphics card get a 2GB RAM only for now.

Hmm..

So say i get the following:

1) Intel i5 750 + Mobo = 15700

2) 2GB DDR3 = 3000

3) 500GB WD = 2350

That leaves around 4k ( max 5k ) for Cabinet + PSU + Graphics card..!!

:unsure:

dude go for asus m4a 785g instead of that mobo, also dont get that card, wait for amd to reduce price for 5850.@dante 555 be can be unlocked into x4,its like 10-15 slower than i5,it beats i5 in some games, and u get it for 5k compare to i5 which is twice 10k,plus that amd mobo rocks,it can be used for all future processar(amd 6 cores),amd wont change am3 socket anytime soon, where as i5 board wont even work for i9

Will surely look around for this mobo babs :unsure: .. But knowing the market here, my hopes are not high..!! :O ..

In case i don't get the M4A785G, is M4A78EM + 4350 a good option.. ( getting 4350 for 2800/-) ..??

I don't have much knowledge about mobo. So, I too suggest him the same mobo :devil: atleast its future proof.

Though, I still suggest to not to buy 57XX
