Possible Early Release of Ratchet & Clank PS3

Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction was pushed back by Insomniac for 1 week to release on the 30th October in the US. This was so they could thoroughly check the game and make it as perfect as they could before it went to print. We know that the game has gone gold now, and there are now signs that it may be releasing on the 23rd October.

Insomniac let us know on their official podcast, The Full Moon Show, that their upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction had gone gold. But, they also stated that they had pushed the release a week later since their production had stretched into a further week of testing.

However, a number of online stores have now listed the game to release on the 23rd October, changing from the originally listed date of October 30th (Gamefly, EBgames, Amazon.com).

So has the printing of the game discs happened quicker than expected, even though the game went gold a week late? Let’s hope so, because we want to get our mits on this quirky game as soon as possible.

:wOOtjumpy:

UPDATE (19 Oct):

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction confirmed by SCEA to be shipping early

We have just confirmed with SCEA that Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will be shipping early.

Originally scheduled for an October 23rd date, the game was recently pushed back to October 30th. But after seeing a few retail outlets with newly updated October 23rd release dates we contacted our friendly SCEA representative. And it is indeed true, the game is shipping to some retailers early and will be available next week. We have also been told that the advertising campaign, which includes television commercials, will begin around the same time.

Get ready for the PS3's best game yet...

I hope people over at Milestone take note of this change and get the game earlier than planned.

I absolutely loved the demo and the in-game colors are unmatched ;)

PSX Extreme Reviews Ratchet and Clank Future, 9/10

http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-reviews/69.html

The bottom-line is that we all expected Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction to deliver, we simply have that much faith in Insomniac. This is visually one of the best looking games on the market. And with an engine that's gunning it at 60 frames per second, and capable of 1080i upscaled, R&C Future is also running on one of the best engines, as well. The gameplay is precisely what we've all come to love, except louder, more heated, more energetic, more fun, and with all new gameplay mechanics added to the mix. Unfortunately there is no multiplayer, but we hope to see maybe a patch sometime in the future. Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is most certainly worth every penny it retails for. Go out and get yourself a copy.

The Ownage begins  Who the hell needs a multiplayer in R&C?
