Watching PS3 content on PC

Right

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was wondering if there is any way we can watch movies on Laptop/PC which are being played on PS3/Xbox through wifi/bluetooth conn, I vaguely remember there was a feature which let you play PS3 games through PSP, not sure about this though.

Any separate addon/device/hack available for this?

My living room where my consoles are placed is quite far from the A/C. And it becomes really hot in there.

I really cannot move those things and the TV, so like to watch movies on laptop from my bedroom.

This may sound a little dumb to you but the fact is I am willing to shell out a few grands if somehow I can do this, and it seems very much possible too.

And Jigsaw, didn't understand your point, I am going to use PS3 processed data only (for BDs well I don't have any option). I just like to watch it on a lappy than a TV.

sorry bro... didnt mean to ridicule or offend u.

Apart from remote play, if that even works, i could probably suggest a creative zen vision W movie player... But that'd require u to convert movies and other video files into avi. And u said u want to watch them only on your lappy... so i guess so kinda streaming would be a better option if it is even possible.

Maybe he wants to sit and watch the videos he downloads while he's in the bathroom or in his bedroom or something.. i don't see anything wrong with that.. can't have a huge monitor everywhere can you?

Got your point gaurav :happydance:

jiggi... :eyebrow:

udham wants to use the ps3 to play the moveis, but he wants to watch them on the laptop.... i.e. he wants the ps3 to be the media server n lappy the receiver

solution... a really really long hdmi cable?? :happydance:

edit: actually even that won't work... laptops have hdmi out.. not in... :chucks:

^^ me too gaurav... have had it for 3 years now... one of the few gadgets that's stayed on with me :threatenlumber:

60gb wala? My dad got it from singapore's airport on release date lol... faithfully served me till now. No touch, or apps compared to the iPod touch and Zune HD these days, but still crisp clear video the way I like it.

I have it too :chair:

Cheers mate!

Just get a BD drive for your PC. Or upgrade your laptop's drive. :threatenlumber:

He'd have to get an external USB BD-rom drive then... maybe he can just run a long hdmi cable like dabba suggested to a TV near the AC or move his entire setup near the air conditioner. Since the PS3's controller is wireless it should work even if the set is quite a bit away from him.

External if it's a laptop. Or internal for PC. I think the external are quite expensive, but if he's willing to spend then that's a good option.
