^^ oh yeah.. have you enabled upnp in the router?

Yep I had, but now I disabled it thinking it might be one of the reasons. I think I need to file a complaint, and yes like kamalpreet said, the present speed is 512kb, BSNL has become real bad in this past 1 yr. :P

I already tried putting it on DMZ. :P

I've few open ports for other servers on my network, never really opened one for PS3, do you know any port that it needs opened ? someone ?

I've a serious doubt that its screwed at BSNL end, the reason being that the PS3 is passing the internet test, but fails on PSN !

it makes sense that the ports which psn used is blocked by your modem.....so it can connect to the internet but not to psn....

btw Playstation Network Required Ports

TCP 80

TCP 443

TCP 5223

UDP 3478

UDP 3479

UDP 3658

Playstation Online Game Ports

Call of Duty 3:

UDP 3074

TCP 3074

MotorStorm

UDP 3659

UDP 3660

You can use http://whatsmyip.org/ports/ to test if the ports are open.

Never knew these port information, tried them, still fails.

I have always had the firewall off on the router without which the PSN used to drop connectivity, and now that the PS3 is on DMZ so all ports for it is open. :good:
