piper
Why does the watch have that black bar? Edited September 25, 2014 by piper
ZooZoo
Came back to miui 6 after trying out various rom for last one month. All of them are badly optimized for battery. I was getting barely 10 hours of usage on them. Miui used to give me 18 to 20 hours easily.
The Wolfy among us
Why does the watch have that black bar? Android wear isn't currently designed to handle round screens it seems. But not sure how the new LG watch handles it.
TheHitman
Why does the watch have that black bar? http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2960ob/why_all_the_complaining_about_the_moto_360/ Due to limitations of screen technology, Moto had to reserve a small area from the circle as a place to house components for the screen. It results in a small flat spot on the bottom of the circle.

But not sure how the new LG watch handles it. Not quite, the watch's design. Internal display driver components in there. They should have found a way to not have that. Having seen one of these in person, once you see the black bar, it's hard (atleast for me) to not keep noticing that interruption in the circle. phreak
You wont even notice the black bar after the first day of use. Having said that, no watch is worth buying right now. I'd say to wait for next year or 2nd gen watches. Moto One? They gona have massive improvements
piper
IMO that black bar is a bad decision.

For me a watch needs to look classy and have a full complement of letters. A cut-off 6 is not acceptable. I'd take a slightly thicker bezel to that.
