If say i root my phone on 4.4.2 & then i update to lollipop update by samsung then would i have to root again ?

Also i tried googling how to root my note 3 without tripping knox 2.0 which converts phone's status from 0x0 to 0x1 if rooted, but i can't find a guide for it. My model is note 3 sm-n900. So if anyone can please help.

If you want to update to samsung Lollipop version, then wait for someone at XDA to remove Knox from that ROM.

Is something like that possible. There aren't many roms for note 3 sm-n900 version. And don't you have to root first to install a rom. So it will trigger knox first b4 installing a knox free rom right

With newer devices, manufacturers are using different ways to keep you on the stock ROM. e.g. Xperia devices lose some of the camera functionality when you unlock the bootloader. Motorola/HTC devices almost always require an online process for unlocking bootloader.

Eventually, it is about you wanting complete control over the device. If warranty is a real concern, wait 12 months and then tinker with your device.

Otherwise, do as I do and XDA the sh*t out of every device within the first day of buying it :P

12 months are past. Now a couple of months into a year of extended croma warrenty.

Donno how they handle rooted devices so wanted to do it without triggering knox.

I saw a user on youtube using a pc s/w called kingoapp which rooted his sprint note 3 without triggering knox. But as i said being a user of the outcasted exynos sm-n900 model. There is little develipment for us.

They're quoting 16k :O

Know any good place I can get it replaced?

Damn, that's a lot. :( Guess Sony phones and you just don't go well together. :console:

Sadly, no I don't know any local mobile shops. For expensive phones, I'd trust only the authorised service centres. :fear: It's a different story that nothing has happened to my phone yet. *touches wood* :fear:

Me too thats why i went to the authorized dealer. Lets see, will try getting it replaced from a local shop!

And yeah, if you're covered under warranty, you don't need to worry

The warranty ends in July or August, I think. So, I'm worried after that. :nerves:

Planning to go for a new mobile to replace my Nexus 4. No samsung though. Flipkart have an exchange offer for Nexus 6 which comes upto 33k. Is this a good deal , any nexus 6 owners share their review here, or should i go for one+ or LG G3
