Grrrrr.... rep me for that awesome list you people of the Android realm :chair:

But you're all not talking about any of the apps that I've painstakingly narrowed down from the thousands on the market :(

Are any of them total trash?

lol....repped you too :)

Google contacts sync is a fecking mess :wallbash: Finally i aligned my mac address book and google contacts "my contacts", corrected names, added emails, addresses wherever applicable and cleaned it. They are both perfectly sync now.

But I dont know what happens when I try to sync on my phone. I have 223 contacts in "My Contacts" in google contacts and after sync i get only 144 on the phone. And on the phone I have chosen only my contacts to sync. On top of that, even the my contacts section in google contacts becomes 144 after i sync to the phone  . I have to keep restoring to get my original my contacts list back.

WTF man. I've cleared app data in settings->manage applications also. No idea whats happening.

Tried again, worked. Finally! Now lets hope the OTA syncing stays.

Gaurav, we seems to be on the same boat, saw your appl list, nice. I aligned some apps too, here:

My Apps

Only 52... :chair: What kinda list is this. 152 needed plisss :P

Haha, let me see what other apps I have apks for or want to buy. Another night's work

Hmm History Eraser eh? :naughty:

I don't think we'll need a task killer. Travel to malaysia a lot?

Number plates of India app

And I don't know if you'll need SIPDroid much. Isn't usage of sips integrated into the OS on the NExus or something like that? Read a guide for SIP + Nexus S on XDA. Or is it for video calling that you have it in there?

lol yea, very useful at times.

dont know of 2.3 would be able to handle that, but read off forums that task killer is a handy app to kill unwanted tasks that do not close on itself.

Yep, 4th trip planned this june to malaysia. The few apps that I'm missing on the android Vs the iOS is of various small places in malaysia. Though I've not looked any further to appbrain as of now.

Number plates of India app

thats an interesting app, for my ever answer seeking kid. ;-)

I have no idea how well SIP is integrated with 2.3, with or without video, have wideband HD codecs or not, etc, so just was looking for a good VoIP app as well. Bria is another one, but has low star rating on the android.

Is there a place to download Android apps via PC instead of the Market on the phone?

No

Do you have airtel? I have a working Google Voice on my PC now (and hopefully with asterisk on my router and an ATA adapter to analog phone at home) but I can't get it working on my phone because it seems that Airtel is blocking all the SIP providers. The only options that I have is either to use it on WLAN (not possible in office as STUN ports are blocked), use my own asterisk installation (requires the router to be always on) or use a lesser known SIP provider :(

Can someone post a quick tut on how to use my mobile internet on the pc.

Android 2.1 and airtel here.

Need it asap.. I have cookies.

For 2.1, you would need to install an external app and also root your phone PDAnet is one such app I believe

B.... b....b... but.. the Resident Droid Developer above said NO :ko: .... as in NO there isn't a place to download via PC.

Unless you only download free apks from that site linked

Btw that pandaapps seems to have a PC Suite for android with the following features:

Support 64-bit Windows XP/Vista OS

Import/Export contacts

Back up call logs/SMS

Download massive wallpapers, ringtones, themes and softwares

Convenient and practical RSS subscription

Log off & Reboot

Perfect UI performance

Phone process and system registry management

Phone software installation, uninstallation and management

Calendar and schedule management

Caller location inquiry

Has anyone tried using this?? Worth a download?

Btw I found something that USES your PC for installs over the air to an Android phone though:

http://www.taranfx.com/install-android-apps-from-pc-mac

How to Install Android Apps via Web

Step 1. Go to AppBrain.com and log-in with your Google credentials

Step 2. Download AppBrain Market Sync app Log-in with your Google credentials. You can

Download from market

Step 3. Download the FastWeb Install app.

Open in Market (from phone only)

Step 4. Browse AppBrain.com to discover apps and one click install on phone OTA.

Is it secure?

AppBrain’s apps connect you through your Google’s Auth without ever actually seeing your password. Apart from that there’s no guarantee of stuff they are doing in the background.

However, there’s one downside: AppBrain’s instant installer only works for free applications, paid apps need little more work.

Thanks!

And I thought piracy wasn't supported on this forum and even discussing about mods was prohibited (A member was even warned cuz his non-piracy-related post had a screenshot with a pirated download in queue).. Oh well!!
