Solitaire
That TV-switch-off animation is awesome, I keep trying it just for kicks Thanks Shantz, EvoZ and MT. Installed a whole truckload of programs (still 100-150 to go) but one of those i found most useful was Wifi File Explorer. Makes it much easier to transfer and remove files like MP3s when compared to plugging it into the PC each time. Except of course when I have a GB or more to move. Do check out Photoaf , it stitches some pretty decent 360 panoramas on the phone itself even if you make mistakes while taking photographs. 1. Btw Shantz, this task-switcher you speak of, is it the app (Task switcher, visual task switcher etc) or an inbuilt task switcher? How do I get to it if it's some inbuilt function you speak of? 2. Also, if I install ADWLauncher EX, will it mess up my homescreen or just replace it while it's running (i.e. can I simply close the launcher and get back to where I was)? And will it bring with it its own task-switcher? Asking cos I plan to get that app. Edited January 9, 2011 by Gaurav - Solitaire
El Tigre Chino
1. Long Press the home key. Or get Go launcher if you're really concerned bout running apps. It has the best app drawer. Recent apps, running apps, folders and what not. has an inbuilt taskiller too. 2 No it won't. just press the home key to switch between the ADW and Stock launcher(works as long as you haven't set one as the default launcher). Get Home switcher if you're gonna be installing multiple launchers. Yeah Photof is brilliant. Havent really got the chance to do a proper panorama but yea.. good stuff. vbhoj74
Been using Lookout for bout a month now. No idea bout Wavesecure. Lookout free and PhoneLocator Pro in combination seems to be the complete solution at low cost.
achilles
or use tasker to create your own widget or map to a gesture/button press/ etc.. so this tasker you speak of, is it like the automator?

Lookout Free has the Locate phone option (I'm guessing that is what the other app does)
Shantz
Guys, how is Wavesecure ? or any other such app that you recommend ? https://www.wavesecure.com/ I use wavesecure and its pretty good. The only thing is that it is costly (I got it for free lifetime subscription though as they had a promotion going on last year ) so this tasker you speak of, is it like the automator? No. As I can read from that page, automator can record macros by copying your actions on the PC. Tasker doesn't do recording but it gives you control over a lot of functionalities that would otherwise require a special app to perform on your phone (i.e. simple access to low level APIs) and you can batch them all together as well. Now, you can turn these into widgets and run whenever you want. But it's more than that. You can also setup "profiles" or "contexts" for various different situations that can occur on your phone and then have tasker automatically run any of the tasks that you assigned for that context. In short, it's the "Jesus App" in "profile apps" world.

Solitaire
Somehow, when you use live wallpapers ADWLauncher EX on stock Gingerbread seems rather choppy. Quite unlike the experience on Froyo. Hopefully they come out with updates.

Death Stryke
So, why does the android gallery's background display a weird stretched out pixelated version of some random photo of the album in view? Is this correct or is it a bug? Coz it honestly looks weird :-/
